I wish you were around here. Everyone in this area are telling me it is too difficult and just throw it away. Mine had every document I own for the last 20 years, including my writing - poetry, books, screenplay notes and legal documents. I had to make room on my laptop so I transferred it all and deleted everything. My nurse came and I moved my laptop quickly, when it slid off the chair and bent the connector of the SanDisk USB Flash Drive 16GB drive. It is not recognized by my laptop now though it still plugs in. Anyway, thanks for your video. At least I know I just have to find someone willing to do the work. I need them to show me how to use the extended hard drive too. Staples was more interested in making the sale than selling me the easy thing I said I was looking for, an external hard drive yes, but a drag and drop thing, not something I had to set up like a computer with no instructions that needs partitions or something.

I have a similar issue to one of the people here in the comments. My USB is a SanDisk Cruzer Glide 256GB and long story short laptop fell, USB bent, and now it's not being read by my laptop. Just minutes ago I opened up the USB with the help of my uncle and I now see what's wrong with it. There are four prongs, the first and fourth ones look just fine. Both are attached to the board correctly but the second and third ones have something I have never seen before and I'm scared. Both prongs have ripped the metal piece off of the motherboard and the pieces are stuck to the prongs. Pushing all the prongs down and inserting it in my laptop doesn't seem to fix it. I don't know if a soldering iron would work at this point and I'm in desperate need for advice. Currently going to Best Buy to see if Geek Squad has anything to say. Please if anyone has a solution PLEASE tell me.

I have a 256G SanDisk USB drive that looks just like yours. Where can I find a donor to solder?

For the head piece, you can use the model number. If the repair goes beyond that, you need a similar pcb/controller which are very difficult to find

@@lapfix thank you. I need the male USB part with the pins. My pcb has a lot of contact points, as opposedto the 4 on some drives. It's a 256 G drive.

@@lapfix please share the link from where you've got the exact donor in this video, unless you intentionally decided not to share, like a business secret, which makes sense. Rest all good.

Hello, i'm in need of a head piece for my sandisk cruzer glide 3.0 32GB, but i can't find any on the net. I've even tried searching the model number as you suggested on another comment (but i'm posting another one since i'm afraid of you not seeing a new comment reply), could you tell me if you know websites that are selling those ? thank you

The L in solder is silent. So, it's pronounced saw-der, not sold-er.
