Great video and very helpful, one question, by how much should the PVA be diluted?

Would have been great if you were explaining why you were doing certain stages of the repairs like drilling holes.

Hi pal. What paint do you use on the coving to paint??? Also is it suitable to use the paint as a primer??? If not, which paint would recommend as a primer for covings??? Cheers👍

Nice one! Before painting wooden stair steps, could I do something similar with woodfiller and caulking for hairline cracks in the wood? They’ve already been sanded down and I don’t want to lay carpet down after.

hello there, I haven't seen any of you videos on cracks in the corners on what I would call a 'standard' coving. I am guessing you would foam and then use the filler rather than opt for foam and then use a caulk such as Nemesis? I have the same quesiton about cracks that have appeared underneath the coving/ wal join? the cracks are not exactly hairline but equally not really big enough to open up and use foam so I am wondering what is best really... may be just some filler applied with the finger to properly get into the joint? Cheers for the vids once again!

aaaaah, an outing for the expanding foam! It's been a while!! But the mask while you were using the foam???? Can't say I've seen you wear a mask when using foam......I never do. Is that a recommendation now? Top work as usual.

Hi have an old house and your videos are a lifesaver! Similar to someone else what paint do you use on coving? Read somewhere that normal emulsion should be watered down first or else it’ll crack? Any recommendations what to use on old coving and cornice once cracks have been mended?

Vinyl matt will be best for not cracking... although it has a slight sheen. Flat matts will be fine also... you should not get cracking really... only old paints or the wrong paint used then emulsion on top can cause cracking.. thanks

3:21 Is that a watered down pva you're using to mix the filler, or just water?

Old coving looks great when freshly painted and in such good condition. It seems there are sections that were curved.... was this made using a series of mitres, or a pre formed curve of just made up on site to match existing by copying the shape with plaster? Can’t really tell from the video, maybe you could spot something whilst working on it? Just curious how it’s done really? Thanks. Marc

It's not wood, usually some form of plaster here in the UK
