I need to know how to fix LG refrigerator problems.
If it is giving the error code OFF or O FF, it is in display mode. You can reset it to operational mode by opening the left side door, holding down the ice plus or lock button and refrigerator button together for five seconds, and it will ding as it initializes and turns on.
That would explain why it doesn’t work when I brought it home.
It could also happen if it gets really confused after a brown out or a control board.
I hope it isn’t the control board, because that costs a third the price of the unit to replace.
Replacing the control board or motherboard is only recommended if rebooting the fridge doesn’t clear an error that could be explained by a sensor glitch or loose wiring.
If I get the 1F or F1 error, that’s fixed by replacing the ice maker.
You can try turning off the ice maker and turning it back on before you assume the whole ice maker needs to be replaced.
An ice maker ups the repair rate by fifty percent, even in LG refrigerators that are less prone to breakdowns.
If you get error code 22, that’s the error for having the compressor to fail, and the starter relay is usually to blame.
The clicking it makes when it tries to start is another indicator of that root cause.
Error code 67 is when the fridge thinks there is a gap in the seal or problem with the door.
Or the kids are keeping the door open too long looking for what they want to eat.
Or they’ve spilled so much food residue on the seals it can’t close properly.
It would be more likely that they’ve been hanging on the refrigerator door too much.
If the hinge is damaged, you’d probably notice the door was askew, at least after you’ve put the milk in your coffee.
It isn’t anything that obvious.
Error code 15 is when the ice maker fan motor is dead.
I’d notice that from the lack of new ice and silence from the ice maker.
The DH error code means the defrost heater is having problems or its fuse has blown.
I’d rather know that it won’t run than have it stuck on. And I can defrost it manually with an ice scraper if I have to.
FS is the freezer sensor error, though whether it is the sensor or the wiring to the sensor is a problem.
That’s one of those if in doubt reboot errors.
You can also tell if it is the sensor if the fridge thinks the freezer is cold but your ice cream is melting.
I don’t have that problem.
RS is the refrigerator sensor error, though the temperature isn’t as obvious as a freezer that isn’t freezing anymore.
I have a laser thing for reading temperatures.
If the refrigerator sensor is encased in ice from melt water from the freezer, you could get that error and fix it by cleaning the sensor.
Same thing if it is sitting too close to the still hot leftovers.
That would be fixed by cleaning and drying the sensor of food residue or condensate and seeing if it works right. Or replacing the sensor.
All else fails, call for service because the sensors are right but the mechanical components are malfunctioning.
