In the last episode we started on repairing the front cowl mounting points, today we are going to finish that repair as well as work on fixing up additional mounting points at the base of the A-pillar. Helping us today is one of our helpers Andrew. He is 14 years old and is currently helping out around the shop in exchange for an education in welding and metal shaping. The A-pillar mounting feet are basically a boxed section that fit inside the door jambs and at the bottom flare out, and mount to a piece we made in the last episode. All the pieces tie together with a bracket off the frame that bolts the cowl, subframe, and the wood support blocks all together. This piece was originally stamped and formed all out of one piece of material, but we do not have the means to do so in our shop. So, we are going to be showing how to make it from two separate pieces and blending them together to give the appearance that it was all one section from the start. Thanks for watching!
