Great job. Lots of hard work, but it pays off. There’s the golden rule: water only runs downhill! With the exception of the tee, which you are aware of, you did a ton of work and had a good plan. Just in case the city doesn’t allow direct discharge to the street, as you said I’d get a bag of redi-mix concrete, fill in and reshape the curb around your discharge pipe. It will give it a clean finish look and be less obvious. Well done.

My gosh this is the exact problem I have. I had someone come out to determine why water during a rain would rise up the side of the garage and flow through the weep holes in the brick wall, through the garage and out the weep holes of the other side. He said the gutters (2 down spouts)were 90% of the problem. The water flowed through the downspout and had no where to go so it just backed up into the yard. Recommends a French drain but perforated ones supposedly fill up with dirt. Wow, you really did a lot of work to solve your water problem. Great job! Thanks for making your video.

@@joshuaguenin9507 thanks, I just watched a few of his videos. He is a pro. The reason the french drain portion of my drainage pipe failed was because it was at a low point in my yard, so therefore it would have to travel upward(against Gravity) in order for it to leave my yard which isn't possible.

@SuitTV

@@peternyc well this video was my solution. Looking back I should have done a French drain instead because the water build up wasn't just from the water running off my house. Its actually because it is the lowest point on all my neighbors properties too, so my fix only partially helped. A French drain will probably work better and I may end up converting my pipe into a French drain within the next few months.

It was about $450.. $120 of it was the rental of the metal saw and blade to cut the curb. I later ended up doing another section of my yard and found that using a hammer drill to go directly through the concrete was a better option. Then $130 of it was for a water pump because the trenches filled with water after a few days because the water table by me is so high.

Why didn't you use perforated black plastic piping? Comes in 100' rolls and way cheaper than PVC
@SuitTV
5 жыл бұрын
A few reasons. 1-junk gets caught in the ridges of the piping over time and it incredibly hard to clean out. With PVC you can easily flush it all out. 2- I wanted to maintain the structure of the pipe. If I were to pour a few feet of dirt on a black plastic piping then walked over it, the piping would collapse in. PVC is way stronger than that plastic. 3- I wanted to maintain a downward sloping angle which is easier to maintain with a straight pvc pipe than a malleable black perforated pipe. I might use that black piping for above ground use, but not underground.
