Thank you, this video helped me. I was having random blue screen when playing steam games for like 5 months now. I thought it's just my ram or something. But after watching your video, I removed the 2 extension cable that I bought from amazon that is connected to my GPU then used the cable from PSU straight to my GPU. It works no more blue screen. I think it's really because of the extension cable.

Terrific video Charlie. Very thorough and methodical. I had some USB instability in the past but never considered it to be caused by the power supply. I upgraded to another PSU about a year ago to allow for a GPU upgrade and now that I think about those intermittent USB issues also went away. For some reason I never put 2 and 2 together there. So perhaps I had the same issue as you. I will have to test the old PSU now as I was keeping it around as a spare but if the voltage levels have diminished then maybe it should be disposed of instead.

Thank you!! and same here, I never thought the PSU would be the cause of USB instability, always suspected cables or faulty USB ports and what surprised me the most was the games crashing straight to the desktop was also caused by the PSU! I was convinced it might have been the RAM, GPU, CPU or Motherboard. Now, It's been more than a week since I replaced the PSU and everything is stable! Not a single crash or BOSD or any USB issues, just crazy! Also, when you test the voltages, make sure to do it under load!

I’ve had this problem for nearly 2 months now. I built a whole new pc, and I was shocked because I thought I might’ve installed the wrong drivers etc. I replaced the MB for a better one and I got a better GPU than the one I had. Still ran into the issue, but I did notice how the mouse would just DISAPPEAR Sometimes, or stop working. I will be diagnosing the PSU later. Hopefully this is what it is. Thank you!!!

@@TechGuyCharlie long story short .... it was the PSU :) yea i know i bought the m.2 SSD because i couldnt fresh install Win 10 on my old m.2, but after buying a new m.2 SSD i still couldnt install it, so i changed a setting in Bios and then i could install it on the new m.2 SSD. i guess my old m.2 is still working, im gonna test it the next days and put it back in ^^ then i replaced all 4 RAM Sticks with my old ones but it was still crashing. Then i tried only the 2nd & 4th RAM SLOT, but still Bluescreens, changed the Graphics card but still blue screens, till the new PSU was installed :) i instantly knew its gonna work because as you showed in the Video with the HWMonitor Tool the +3.3v +12v +5v was way under the Numbers, so my old psu had on +3v only 2.5v the 12v only had 11.6v, and when i installed the new PSU it showed instantly 12v at 12v, 3.3v at 3.3v, and 5v at 5v. so I was instantly happy when I saw the numbers, the System is running since then without any Problems, no Bluescreens, no Shut downs no nothing, im now more then 2h in my Game without a Bluescreen/crash/freeze, normally i get Bluescreen after not even 5min. and what was really weird before every Bluescreen my LAN Connection just deavtivated itselfs, but not anymore :D thx my brother

OKAY!! My PSU was working just fine. The voltages were fine THE ENTIRE TIME at 12v. THE PROBLEM was that I had a corrupt NVME. So, when troubleshooting, if it wasn’t the PSU, most likely it’s the NVME or your CPU. Start with the NVME tho. Hope this helps

Corsair should replace it since its got 10 years warranty. But that isn't applicable in my country. Speaking out of personal experience, due to weak consumer protection laws, brands don't honor warranty, so if something goes bad, you are pretty much on your own.

Hey Laur, I've had one issue, RGB Fusion was interfering with the mechanical hard drives, upon launching, it caused the drives to stop spinning and star back up and it would take over the RGB of the RAM, this was fixed by deleting two files. After that the software has been mostly working fine. Card is great, but the software is junk, which is why I might avoid getting another Gigabyte card in the future.

WHEA errors are due to low voltage - correct. In your case it was PSU. However in most cases it is a sign of a defective CPU. Usually on low loads while the CPU boost to a very high clocks it "demands" too little voltage from your motherboard that is not enough to sustain itself and so it throws cache error and crashes. Pretty common with 5000 series CPUs unfortunately... RMA is your only solution for a permanent fix. Of course as long as your new CPU also isn't defective..

Hard to say, if the voltages are normal, you could try a couple of things: 1. Re-seat the cables 2. Run Crystal Disk info to check if there are any issues with the SSD 3. Do a clean install of Windows 4. Undo any overclocking/Overvolting on the CPU and GPU. Its highly unlikely its the RAM or the CPU, but who knows.
