Hi John. Interesting approach. There are also EXCEL functions to help: FORECAST, FORECAST.LINEAR and FORECAST.ETS. Further, there is the Forecast Sheet feature in the Data ribbon tab. Lots of ways to do a forecast. Thanks for sharing your method :)) Thumbs up!!

Thanks for the tips Wayne. I recently discovered the forecast sheet feature and it's certainly a great way to benchmark a manual forecast.

Great video John thank you! I am a novice to forecasting and had a question regarding the formula in the forecast cell ‘to the power of, will this formula work with all trendline types?

Yes, all trendlines can be forecasted this way. For log and exponential trends you need to use LOG and EXP formulas. As long as you follow the step of plotting the forecast line back on the chart to check it you won't go far wrong. 👍
