These are some great hints. I really like the idea of at test cut of the bottom layer. It never occurred to me to do that.

It definitely saves me some time, especially when using shadow boxes that aren't my usual size as I find it hard to "visualise" the sizes in my head.

These are so cute, I'd like to do one with a cheer leader for my 11 yr old grand daughter. How do you keep the ballerina from being against the glass or is it suspose to be? Thank you

The dancer doesn't touch the glass as it's glued to the background card which sits behind the wooden spacer in the shadow box, so there is a gap between where the dancer ends and the glass starts :)

We can't get Collall glue in the US - I bet my suitcase if full of it on my way back from my next trip to the UK!

Two really good USA alternatives are Bearly Art Glue and Art Glitter Glue (it doesn't have glitter in it). I wish we could get Bearly Art Glue in the UK as it looks so good!

Wow, nice tutorial . Came across u video today, was trying to frame my son hand cutting layers from his first 12 months journey . How depth is the shadow box ?

The ones I use are 20x20cm box frames from Hobbycraft in the UK. The depth of them is 2cm.

So you didn't use that inner frame within the frame that came with the shadow box on these projects, correct?

The wooden spacer inside? Yes, I did use them for these ones and I put the square of patterned paper on the back of it so that the square "sat" at the back of the frame and then the spaces gives the depth so that all the layers fit.
