Thanks for this, I’ve referred back to this video a few times for harvesting and flash freezing my rhubarb. The baking sheet is a good tip!

Great! Our neighbour brought us some rhubarb and I’d like to make pie once we have strawberries available too! ☺️

Sounds great! I just froze some myself. I love adding it to my applesauce in the fall.

Love rhubard! My father always made rhubarb syrup for pancakes. He would mix it up, asd it to ziplocks or jars, and then freeze them. Delicious!!! Love your tip on sucking the air out for soy vaccum sealing.

LOL! I know, right! Who knew a straw in a ziplock bag could be so useful. HA HA HA! I still have a vacuum sealer, but I only use it if I know I need super long term (6 months or more). The items I know are going to be used in other recipes later in the fall or that I know the family will eat right away just get sealed using the "straw method".

I don't have alot of freezer space, so I would like to cook and stew the rhubarb and then freeze it in ziploc bags and just pull out what I need - have you ever tried this method - thx

I haven't tried it. I would think it would work. Maybe just freeze them in the serving size that you need for your favorite recipes to make it easier.

So glad you found us and learned a new way. Yes, sometimes there is a random "stringer" (as I call them) that you have to pull off, but for the most part, we just use it as is.
