These tricks are not as easy as these video makes it seem so and finding a strapless freestyle mentor/instructor is so difficult/rare.

Yes it is for sure, I think learning the toe side pop on a twin tip first can actually help a lot

It's a hard one for sure....I did a basic intro to wave riding video but kiteloops in waves is a good idea. I may add that one to the list!

Definitely going to give the toeside air a go!..... How about some tips on timing of hitting the lip and kite control- when I square up to the lip I usually lose line tension so I'm usually hitting lip full speed down the line and can't quite match the wave speed properly.... Thanks!

Yeah timing is key and does change a bit with the wind direction relative to the wave. Near straight onshore wind is easiest for sure. If you are loosing line tension it sounds like you are in side shore wind going at the kite, which is frankly just a lot harder. If is is side on, maybe try some airs going the other way really pinching into the wind, this way as you go up the face you build line tension and lift in the kite. If you want to do downwind airs you will have to rely on your momentum vs the wind to keep the board on your feed and really work the kite deep into the wind window before hitting the lip not to loose line tension

@@evannetsch Thanks Evan!.... I live in the land of right point breaks and side shore winds so will definitely use my momentum to boost..... Thanks again for the tips and awesome videos!

Bless your heart dude. The #1 problem I have with this jump is my kite falling to 10o'clock and hanking me backwards. The way you address this @3:30 is greatly appreciated.

These tips are helping me a lot, I've already managed to hit a jump with the surfboard, but when I try to follow someone with a bidirectional I lose control, I miss going faster when I use the surfboard, is it possible to walk at the same speed as a bidirectional one? (in non-flat water conditions)

Stoked to hear the tips are helping! I think I ride at about the same speed twin tip or surfboard but perhaps it does take a bit more time to feel completely confident riding at a faster speed on a surfboard especially in heavy chop...gotta follow each lump an bump a bit more and get comfortable with your board coming slightly unglued every few seconds as you rise and fall over waves and bumps, almost like a bunch of mini airs are you are riding along in as straight line.
