I'm no fitness expert so feel free to correct me if I'm wrong , but to all who criticize his form, here are some things to think about. To start things off, he is only using his bodyweight therefore he isn't lifting a dangerous amount of weight. Next, he is only rounding his shoulders at the very top at the movement for like a second to squeeze his chest muscles, which is what the concentric part is supposed to do.On the other hand, during the eccentric or down portion of the movement, he repositions his shoulders blades by retracting them like its supposed to be done. Finally, despite his arms flaring out a bit, they don't seem to stick out completely to the side but end up rather more behind him, which still seems to put the shoulder in a position of natural alignment.

Poor pushup form, please don't teach it like that. The far end of the wide/flared pushup results in your supraspinatus tendon rubbing against the acromion bone (top of your shoulder bone). This is harmful and causes what's known as SHOULDER IMPINGEMENT.

That is how you get a shoulder injury. Rolling your shoulder forward like that reduces the stress on the pecs and puts most of it on the anterior deltoid. ALWAYS Retract and depress scapulae also in the top position of the push ups!

Good to see you back. Missed your workout. If you had done the chest demo without your shirt, we could have got a better idea exactly what chest muscles were engaged in each of the demonstrated movements. My triceps fail before my chest does. Does that mean I'm doing pushups wrong?

Paul, size matters when it comes to strength ! the bigger your muscles the stronger you get .... not in all cases but in general this is a true fact don't expect your strength to increase over time and your muscle have the same size. They will get bigger eventually !
@lawrent6257
8 жыл бұрын
not really. Size and strenght are two different things. For example: a bodybuilder on stage is BY FAR weaker than Fortress, because they are dehydrated and have a very low body percent, but they are bigger as fortress. Size doesn't matter. There are a lot more factors that increase/decrease the strenght off an individual. (If I'm not good at formulating, I'm sorry because I'm still learning english)
@mohanad0408
8 жыл бұрын
You Make Me Fafa you brought a specific case ... and that's why I said not in all cases ! and I was talking in general .. the stronger you get the more possibility of your muscles getting bigger ! Is there anyway you would see someone who has like Paul's body and squat 800 ? My point is: no matter how long you train to achieve strength .... as you train and be stronger over time .... at some point your muscle will get bigger to achieve the next level of strength ! it's a natural response from your body .. you can't reject it !
@flashRIGA

Yes, but Bruce Lee achieved the strength without so much size, for the mobility.
@lawrent6257
8 жыл бұрын
+MD9 and most of the people that train with weight aren't able to do one arm pull or chin ups. It depends on the way how you see strenght. If it is moving as much weight as possible (like powerlifters) or even if it is endurence (like the way how paul often trains)

Hey Paul, I watched some of your earlier videos such as your 'TRANSFORMATION' one and you were saying that you built the amount of muscle you did by just going out and working hard on the basic bodyweight moves. You followed no structure whatsoever? I myself like more structured workouts and am a big fan of bodyweight training coach Paul Wade (if you heard of him), so I became quite confused if doing structurally rigid training (such as doing separate 'strength' and 'hypertrophy' work) is just making things too complicated. Thanks, and just a question of mine that came up.

Hey Pavel, do you drink any whey protein to sustain or increase your weight? is it ok for us who are in trouble in gaining weight and in increasing in muscle?
@atkvin
7 жыл бұрын
yundaime07 I don't see why not! Whey protein is a quick easy source of proteins and calories to maximize recovery and growth if you can afford it, especially if results aren't coming easy. Make sure you're buying a reliable brand so you don't get ripped off for water carbs, and try mixing in fruits or milk for extra flavor and healthy nutrients every now and then etc. Don't get too worked up over it and just work out your best, get your rest and eat plenty of other organic natural whole foods for proper and better nutrients. Happy exercising and stay healthy!

+Venskūnas23 if you look his previous videos from few months ago you can see he lost quite a bit...now correct me if I am wrong but unless he was injured or totaly went away from training droping that much is not healthy and here he realy doesnt look healthy. I am not saying being muscular makes you healthy it really doesnt but out of skinny guy and guy with fair bit of muscle who do you think is healthier?
@v3n481
7 жыл бұрын
Unknownuser 1 he lost his size because lack of training so muscle reduce its size and its normal effect and it has nothing to do with health. Physiology speaking it is better for body to have less muscles because it requires more fuel and if it is not used there is no point to keep them. Maybe after several decades then his muscle tissue degenerates it would have some health issues but then again, it depends of his lifestyle. He could work in garden or farming field and would have bones tendons and ligaments strong enough to keep his joints healthy but not much muscles to show since gardening dont build size. So no, size is bad measurement
