He arrives in a different country with no plan, signs up for anything that'll give him free housing, food & education for his kids & that makes him eligible for what? To be a better writer? And that woman with FM moves from Bermuda to England for her health? No way! I have FM. The last thing you'd want is to live is somewhere cold & damp. Why do people always blame the housing officers? Don't they put out pamphalets listing who's eligible & who's not. Maybe the Romanian guy could help her write it!

When I was made redundant back in 2003 I got a payoff that was worth about three months' salary. I went for an interview the day I left and was offered the job a couple of days later. It was not what would have chosen had I had a choice but it was a salary to keep me going until I found something better. My friend genuinely could not understand why I did not just sit at home until the money ran out and then get a job but I had a mortgage and bills to pay and a family to support and I could not have coped with the worry. The thing that really got me with Lisa, is that she moved from a warm climate to the UK with fibromyalgia, which will only get worse in our damp, cold winters. Then she applied for a job (with accommodation) that would entail her being on her feet actively working from 07:00-17:00 each day, followed by cleaning up afterwards. That is going to put a hell of a lot of pressure on her physical condition! Plus her general rudeness and sense of entitlement really annoyed me. She presumably thought that she could come here and be cared for by the NHS, due to her fibromyalgia, as she wouldn’t be able to pay for any potential medical bills in Bermuda.

@@MaTtRoSiTy Yeah, keep everyone off of my shit pile apart from family. Eventually when your shit pile is the only pile around, everyone will want in. Either that or everyone outside your pile is living even worse, or dead. And then what kind of world is that? What kind of people would be left on your precious pile? I'm glad you acknowledge cause and effect relationships in your comment with regards to people having no "connection" to the UK but still coming here. But what about a connection that money travels around the world? That the UK was built due to the hard work of many nationalities over many centuries. This can't be ignored. If people are suffering somewhere, or think they can be more happy somewhere else, they will try to get there. And why shouldn't they? The solution isn't to make things more difficult and invent more invisible barriers. The solution is to make the world a better place to be so people don't have such a strong desire in the first place. Concentrations of wealth and inequality will drive poor people to move and do things as it does with the rich. The problem is the underlying system we have, not the people. People go by cause and effect and environmental influences. It's very complicated but putting blame on people for wanting more(which is exactly what our system requires people to be like) or better for themselves and their family(just like you do by protecting your pile) isn't going to solve the problem in any meaningful way.
@budsio

@@MaTtRoSiTy The British empire could never have been built without overseas colonies and trading posts. Point being, nothing much survives in a vacuum. I agree, there are many immigrants that don't share our values and come to exploit our system, but again, if their countries were good enough they wouldn't have such desires. Once again though, it's not as simple as simply having a desire to fix their own nations. It needs to actually be a possibility. When other countries have spent entire generations gaining leverage, changing a country can be incredibly difficult without the support of others. I do indeed donate money to good causes and those in less fortunate positions, but lets be honest, the billionaires hoarding wealth could change the face of the planet any time they wanted. And as I've said already, the underlying influences of our current system prevent that happening on many different levels. As a humanist I don't like to see anyone suffer. I would argue if we were all similarly minded then the world would be a much better place. The idea that some people deserve to have more than others in some way can create suffering and there is no good evidence to suggest that we even have the type of free will required to put notions about "deserve" onto people. As a human being who cares about other human beings, I would argue it's our duty to make the world better in this way, thus decreasing the chances of some similar tragedy happening to those closest to us, or future generations. We need certain things to survive, but to flourish and be happy we need a bit more. There are ways of achieving this for the entire planet that doesn't involve people feverishly defending their piles of shit. That is the bigger problem. We're in a system that prevents people who want to do better, doing better. This is what we should be trying to change, because if we fail to change the underlying problems generating the behaviours we dislike to begin with, even stopping people taking away from our piles of shit won't matter. Eventually they'll come and take our shit when everything else outside is too much to bear, or they'll all be dead and we'll be left with heartless cunts who eventually will shove other problem labels onto people and treat them as the new immigrants.

We have never done this before BIDEN. No explanation why many of them have a United Nations debit card, & get funded by them monthly to get here. So there is more affordable locations that they should have looked for. The others who are low life’s, who don’t work, and live in expensive flats are utterly disgusting and irresponsible. No disagreement there. I do not live with any assistance and do it on my own as well so I totally understand your frustration as it makes me frustrated as well. That Romanian Family should have been rejected. Morally, what the parents did was emotionally blackmail the council by using the kids. They will now probably sit on benefits.

I was born in England but my parents were not and they found it very hard to find accommodation on arival but were given a large council house after weeks. I 100% believe british born citizens should be housed and helped first. The Romanian family getting the house is the reason why alot of the British are against immigrants and you can't really blame them for feeling that way. Just amazing really😒

Put the Romanian family on the next train to Romania, intentionally homeless and came without a plan, stand your damn ground and refuse this arrogance. Disgusting. $150 billion a year for this, 67,886,011 British Citizens. If we stopped giving away money like this, every British Citizen could receive $2,200 a year. These people are costing YOU money, vote for someone who will make a change.

Yes it should be. But the CORRUPT PLOT TICIANS allow this to happen. Years back when David Cameron was asked could you live on zero hours,he took time to answer it and said No. Also agencies need to be Shut down,they are also a problem when it comes to employment because they only give temporary work which benefits the companies and the agencies. Permanent full time jobs is like gold dust.

before watching this i was against the view that immigrants come into the country and take housing away from the British. But having watched other episodes where British families have been denied housing and this Romanian family who made shocking life choices were handed a 4 bedroom house. That house is one less house for a homeless British family, though it's within the technicalities of the law, i don't think it's right.
