U are a real one. Like seriousley. I am 18 yrs old and I discovered your product and your channel (insta as well and i follow :) ) when I was 17 and I just want to say you have been an inspiration. And personally, the timing for this video, has been IMPECCABLE. Literally, I am at the stage of filing for a patent so that I can actually get into contact with manufacturers but also crowdfund with less fear of someone infringing on my idea. I just want to express thanks for this invaluable information because my plan so far was to stack up and save up to 50k by working 2 part-time jobs. I would appreciate it also if you explained in depth how you worked with manufacturers to actually get your product made. Once, again thank you for all of the info you have provided so far in this and previous vids.

This program is legit, I got my patent this way with a the patent law firm of Patterson + Sheridan LLP in Texas and like he said I only pay the fees. I am in my third year of receiving the patent and was sent a bill by the law firm for maintenance, which I knew before hand. I have made a lot of money with my patent, so the fee is worth it. I think after amount of years these fees have to be maintained for the patent to be valid.

Thanks for the video, really informative. i have two questions: 1. is the provisional patent made to protect you while you contact attorneys, manufacturers, etc? i mean, while the provisional patent is within the 12 months, you are already covered? 2. i guess the pro bono patent program only covers american citizens/residents. do you know if this is correct? thanks again!
@iamMartinDimitrov
2 жыл бұрын
Answers to your question, number 1 yes. Not so much attorneys because there is attorney client privilege there but manufacturers and similar yes. Second part of that, no provisional provides non coverage, its just a place holder. Question two, I'm not sure, but I would assume you gotta be a us resident at least.

Thank you. I would recommend talking to someone you know thats in business similar to what you want to do and asking if they will share their manufacturer with you. This is how I've found my best manufacturers. Other than that, I would go on the internet and just call, email, or message people that make similar things to what you're making and try to build a relationship.

Hey Martin!! I also from Chicago, do you think you can answer some of my questions? What will be the best way to patent shoe design?
@iamMartinDimitrov
Жыл бұрын
Hmm, I'm not familiar with shoe manufacturing, but if you made a shoe in a new way maybe, but I'm leaning more towards a design patent, but those kinda suck because someone can make a small design change and get around your patent. I think you should just make it and start selling it. Any more questions let me know

@@iamMartinDimitrov Hello! I am from Chicago as well. Who did you find to make prototypes of your product and to manufacture it? Are they local? Also if your pay increases during the process you should still be eligible right? And can you do more than one patent for free or is it only one?

Thanks! Sadly there was an error on the page when tried to pay the provisional patent fee. So then tried to find that application to pay it, but the search said: "Sorry, the entered Application Number XX/XXXXXXXX is not available. The number may have been incorrectly typed, or assigned to an application that is not yet available for public inspection." (I replaced the actual number with X's for anonymity on youtube) How to find that application and do the payment? Or does that FREE patenting process also handle the cost of that provisional patent? Thanks in advance👍🏻

Hey Joe, that sounds really interesting, would love to know more. This has been done before, as long as it’s not a naturally occurring animal in the wild, it’s patentable as long as it’s novel. Not sure if it would fall under a utility or plant patent but a patent attorney can help you figure that detail out. If there’s anything specific you’d like to me cover, let me know. Thanks!

@@iamMartinDimitrov thanks, I could share a little with you. I've taken the common domestic axolotl pet, which is a salamander that remains in it's larva/aquatic form, and figured out a way to induce metamorphosis using hormones and other environmental factors. That's all I want to share as far as the science is concerned. But I've borrowed work from some science papers to develop the process. It produces a very rare animal that is worth a lot of money. This does happen naturally, but it is extremely rare, and I don't know of anyone that is doing it intentionally. Thanks for your help! I've had several people tell me to get a patent or trademark. Got any videos you could recommend on your channel that might help me? kzitem.info/news/bejne/wm-CqIx9anSEq5g

Thank you for your question. The actual writing of the patent depending on how much info you already have could be a few days to a few weeks including revisions. The provisional is optional but it’s good for 12 months and then you file a non provisional. The non provisional right now is about 2-3 years to be issued. But you’re protected from the date of filing. Let me know if I can help with anything else. Thanks for the great question!
