He purposely gives more information than necessaryso that new people can get involved and understand how to fix problems in their lawn. It would be incredibly boring if the videos were only 30 seconds. You should understand that a lot of people actually enjoy maintaining their lawn. I love Ironite, used it for the first time this spring and noticed a huge difference! This summer I have decided to try out liquids, so I splurged and bought a backpack sprayer, and bought a gallon of the Hydretain on your website. My cool season grass has been very stressed from the unusual 90's we've been having every day with no rain, so hoping this product helps. I figured it was also a better liquid product to put down for a first timer, as liquid fertilizers would burn the lawn if over applied. I'm still planning to use only water in my sprayer for the first time, to see how much I use with my walking pace, along with getting use to the sprayer. I'm still scared of liquids so I'd rather not chance it :)

Safety note: you absolutely can 'burn' your lawn with an overdosed application - and it doesn't take 3x or 4x the label rate to achieve it, like you claim. While Phosphorus and potash can do some damage when over-applied, the culprit here is our friend (or the 'bus' as you call it) Nitrogen. Excess Nitrates in the soil will force the grass to expel (or 'give back' in botanical terms) water to the soil through osmosis, resulting in drying and eventual death. That is the 'burn' the people fear, and it is very real.
@Roughdraft214
2 жыл бұрын
Slow release granular nitrogen is pretty much good proof. Yes if you over apply and temps are high you can cause damage but that’s why he suggests knowing your Sq footage. Liquids on the other hand you run a risk of burning easily.

@jamesrogers4674
24 күн бұрын
@mimiroberts9901 I use 24D amine consentrate and mix with water by directions. 24D ester is probably a little better but ester is what I bought, it's a little cheaper. Add an ounce of surfactant per gallon, you can buy it or use soap or shampoo. That breaks the surface tension of the water and makes it spread over the leaves instead of bead giving more surface contact. There's probably better stuff on the market but it's a good start and should knock down most or all of your issues. Spray a second time before 2 weeks for stuff that is just stunted.

"Polymer coating" isn't an explanation why it won't or will stain. A polymer is just a bunch of monomers that are bonded by a dehydration reaction. There are billions of different polymers. The food you eat is mostly polymer form as it enters your intestines. Hydrolysis is used to break them down but enzymes are necessary to catalyze the reaction. Saying "a polymer does it" isn't an explanation of anything.
@kylewolf3579

A polymer can also be layered, not just in single chain form. It’s the layering that gives the “slow-release” property as the layers break down.

Usually add ironite in May to supplement and get extra green and then July 1st when there’s no step due to summer heat I throw down milo to give that summer time green up while most other lawns are struggling. Domination! I’m also a believer in fungicide. Use monthly late May to late July and alternate as this can help fix that yellow/brown blades you see mixed in that can take away a green lawn when there’s high humidity or nighttime rain.

@@Thelawncarenut Very nice screen, almost completely seamless. Which company did the work and do they call this type of screen a particular name?

Is there any way to contact you to hopefully get some tips. I'd like to send you pics of my lawn and get some advice from you. Great video.

Thank you soooooo much for great information. I've been really struggling with my lawn. I've watch other videos on what to do and what not to do to your lawn in hot summer months. None of them mentioned using iron. Also great information on fertilizers.

In Boston Ma, I have irrigation. I water every morning for 20 - 30 mins a zone. Why is my lawn still burning? I have patches of lawn that’s burning and just doesn’t look good. I have a landscape co. That treats it with about 5 applications per year. I don’t think it’s them causing it. Could it be the soil? I’ve been dealing with this for 4 years now. Am I missing something? Hope you can help.

So informative. I planted Bermuda in full sun, looked beautiful but developed yellowing to brown spots…l was told it was fungus. If so what fungicide can use and l apply during summer without burning my lawn 🔥 😮 Thanks, Rose

Interesting. The summerguard I have available in my state is only 5.1% slow release vs the 17% on your version. It's also a 20-0-8 blend vs 30-0-0.

The new ironite bags says to put a spreader setting of 5 on a Scott’s turf builder edge guard. 2 bags should have covered my 10,000 sqft lawn. I’m now having to go purchase 2 more bags. I think the setting 3 is still accurate.
