Cool channel. You speak the truth on expat life in Vietnam, for the most part. I would add that when you come here, you can literally walk around your neighborhood and find an English center to employ you. But working for smaller centers can be dangerous too, because you don't have much legal recourse if they refuse to pay you after your work is done. And that's not an uncommon occurrence.

I was born and grow up in Vietnam for 17 years before move to Australia and become Australian citizen. Canadian Dollar or whatever currency with the word "Dollar" attached to it, it is really and really high income comparing to ordinary benchmark. Respect that !!! Yes, your right. We can save more if we live in Vietnam. I seriously calculated ratio of incomes and expenses between Australia and Vietnam, finding out that (40% expenese, 60% savings) for Australia, and (20~25% expense and 75 to 80% savings) for Vietnam. Obviously the ratio is favored for living in Vietnam. I am about to do same thing in Vietnam and my cost estimation will be around 500 Australian Dollar per month. My looking is Asian, so i dont get charge higher than usual. Also growing up in Vietnam let me know where to source for cheaper or bargain when needed. I watched the other video you two wandering around and eat out to show daily expenses. It would be more cheaper if you cook at home or bulk shopping. I practiced bulk shopping for many years ad I save a lot of money because of "average cost per unit". Apart from cost of living, Vietnam is better to live because of variety of entertainments. On the opposite side, (i dont know about Canada) but Australia is the place where you can only STUDY or WORK, making our lives quite boring. Thanks for your content.

Teaching is perhaps the easiest route for a foreigner. I'm a registered nurse in the states, and I'm considering moving to hcm to be with my girlfriend and I know I'll make significantly less than what I currently make but at least in Vietnam, I'll have a currency advantage. Aside from teaching, computer science and programing is a skillset that a person can work almost anywhere. I'm considering doing a CS boot camp just to get my foot in the door to work from a computer

You need an associates degree or higher. A uk HND is equivalent. If you have neither, but can show 5 years of teaching experience with a school that will do instead. Those are the requirements to get a work permit. You also need some sort of teaching qualification. The ones that are accepted by online Chinese schools will not usually be good enough. But if its nationally accredited it will be accepted.
