In this video, Jason Frizzell, manager for the band Roanoke talks about what a manager looks for when working with an artist. He explains that choosing a client is kind of like dating, and that it can be difficult for a manager or artist to find the right person to work with. An artist needs to be ready to work with a manager, and they need to be committed and determined for a partnership to be successful. Frizzell also mentions the importance of touring, not only for face-to-face interactions with fans, but to gain revenue and network. This video is part of Berklee Online’s Touring 101 course, written and taught by Bruce Houghton, founder and president of Skyline Artists Agency and Hypebot.com.
