This is exactly kzitem.infoUgkxUHHotQRjIQnfuxEeVotlkHVYWH0DXZoS what I needed to get some exercise while I'm stuck at my desk all day. It's just the right size. Only downsides are that the right oeddale unscrews itself while I use it and increasing the tension causes it to squeak while in use. Both are minor issues that aren't that important to me. So I give it 5 stars.

@saridaolson6241

Persoanlly my torso is super short and my legs are very long. So for me in a western saddle i put it about an inch before my armpit and for jumping i put it where if my heels arent down my knee could overlap on the knee flap of the saddle. But if my heel is down at all (like at all) then my knee doesn't overlap even if its just hardly
@charliehowell1634

I’m really short and I like my stirrups a little shorter than most would. I do the arm trick and take it up 1 or 2 holes. I suggest if you’re y’all to do the arm trick and take the stirrup leathers down 2-3 holes. You can always fix it when you’re on and remember how many holes for the next time you ride.💗

I learned how to quiet my leg by having to hand differnt parts of my leg (thigh and calf and sometimes ankle depending on how bad my leg was swinging and what horse I was on). If I held my leg on the horse I learned myself and figured out ways to use my seat to counter my leg being “stuck” on the horses side. I’ve always been one to have to figure things out. My outside leg still gets wiggley sometimes because I tend to lean, but I have pretty stable legs now.

Step 1: Don't have flat feet Step 2: Don't have anterior pelvic tilt changing the angle your legs go down the sides f the horse Step 3: Don't have an overly tight achilles tendon and pelvic floor making you subconsciously tense up and grip with your legs Step 4: Either chop off your legs of go bareback instead XD

Her advice is good for the canter as well. I’ve done both of the things she talks about at the canter. my instructor always yells at me to keeps my feet from wobbling but I never knew how but I think it‘s because I clenched to keep it steady bc that would be logical but now I thankfully know. At my old stable they teached me to goad(?) wrongly so I always tap with my feet but idk how to do it right. Idk I guess press with my upper legs? Could you give me tips or do you have a video I could watch?
@someonesomewhere9115
3 жыл бұрын
Don’t squeeze with your upper legs, that’s pinching at the knee. It will take your lower leg off of the horse entirely and can bring your upper body farther forward than it needs to be. I used to pinch with my knees and all it did was make me unstable on the horse. Instead, squeeze with your lower leg, but make sure you don’t bring your heel up when you do that.

I don't know much about horses and I would like to know the reason for moving up and down in the sadel when riding at a trot? The movement makes the rider look elegant during the ride but it looks like it would be tiring for he rider.
@alyshab1812
4 жыл бұрын
588158 when you are learning it it can be tiring but it's not as difficult as it looks it becomes the most natural thing and it gets hard to sit a trot😂 as for the reason I don't really know but now I want to jus t hoping to help a little

Thank you for you thoughtful and kind reply. you did help me understand that most of this is instinctive reaction in communication with the horse. Horses are such majestic animals.
@dohavename6775
4 жыл бұрын
Trot has slight jumping movement in it, so when a horse starts trotting, rider feels those jumps. If rider won't move with the horse, compensating for "jumps", rider'd be tossed in a saddle. Yes, it's somewhat tiring for rider at first, but a) you become stronger to ride a horse properly b) it's less demanding if you do it right, when you learn to spread the weight trough leg c) you don't exactly rise on your own, your horse "bucks" you up, so you just follow naturally.
@clareb4563
4 жыл бұрын
The posting, or rising trot, is used to keep a steady balance in the rider, which helps the horse. It helps keep a tempo of the trot and gives you more control over the horse. It’s also easier and more gentle on the horses back :) the trot has a natural bounce to it, when you first start riding it’s tiring, but it becomes natural, just like throwing a football.

It’s a balance between the whole leg and core. It takes time to develop and helps to have eyes of an expert to correct. Heels are down and thighs are snug and you are sitting up tall but without death gripping your butt. Think of all your top half stretching up through your helmet and bottom half distributing down evenly through your heels, knees and seat together. This should engage your core to connect the two. It will not just click overnight. It takes time.
