Get a kaotica or comet portable booth ( about a $50 difference) and Waves NS1 will be your friend with fixing that. Currently I use the Ashton Spirit

What, why wouldnt you compress the background bus? It does not make it overpower the main vocals, the opposite rather. It makes it so that they dont have loud peaks and sound out of place in the mix.
@Kaymixedthat
2 жыл бұрын
This was just a quick tutorial mainly on the main vocals, but u are correct. I do tend to record my vocals at a lower level and blend it in. I never let my backgound vocals overpower . If u look at my newer videos, the template that I have been using to mix does have a compressor on the bgs track

Should I go for NT1 or Shure SM7B?
@Kaymixedthat
Жыл бұрын
Depends. The shure sm7b is very quiet if you don’t have the cloudlifter , so you would have a little bit more work to do with getting the vocals a certain way? While the nt1 is good with volume and clarity and would take less work. Depends on the sound you are really going for
@zet0xOP
Жыл бұрын
@@Kaymixedthat I'm gonna purchase the apollo twin. So if I'm going for the shure sm7b, would I still require the Cloudlifter?
@Kaymixedthat
Жыл бұрын
Yes . The cloudlifter is what you are technically suppose to buy with it . But again it’s a good mic and you can get that gain you are looking for by just adding extra compression. But you won’t get an as crisp sound as you would with the nt1. I wouldn’t say the microphone is good for rapping or anything of that sort. More for podcast / singing -- in my personal opinion
