Thank you for doing this video. These were some great tips. Also I really resonate with your background and journey that you talked about on your video "The why behind what i do." I am a 29 year old singer and would like to start a music career too. First, though I need to replace my FT job so I can focus on music. I'm hoping replace my FT job income with income from session singing (since that's the easiest way to make money from singing) and hope to do that with Soundbetter. People say you can make a FT income on there. Idk how realistic that is now that it seems like there are a lot of artists on there...but I'll never know if I don't try. So I'm definitely going to try out these tips to get some first clients and the tips on your Soundbetter video. Thanks!

I’m so happy to hear this was helpful! And thank you for watching that other video too. I’m glad it resonated with you. I think pursuing a change in your income with session singing is a great idea. Though I made this vid directed toward producing, I think the same tactics completely apply. I think offering to sing on others’ tracks for a backend split instead of upfront cost is a great way to build your catalog and your passive income (just my 2 cents). Thank you for watching my videos and please let me know if I can help or make a video on anything else!

Hey great video but i would prefer to make a hit song and split the royalties and everything with a gatekeeper from big radio stations that he Will benefit from playing the song. And at the same time have that song on your Spotify so you can show to People some samples of your work. Two birds with one stone kind of thing

I personally wouldn't recommend giving up any piece of ownership of your work with anyone who didn't have a direct hand in its creation. Giving up points to gatekeepers like that can be a slippery slope, and they'd be under no obligation to play it without any sort of contract in place. That scenario would end up being far more complicated than profitable in my opinion. Plus, in my experience with radio, most would decline that offer anyway and would instead opt to just receive payola in the form of a cash payment or other tangible "benefits". That's guaranteed compensation vs. potential compensation for them and is generally how they have operated for decades. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and thanks for watching!

SoundBetter is a great platform. I use it every time I need a singer or a producer that do certain things better than I do

I agree. It’s by far the best platform in its genre in my opinion. I love it as both a provider and as a client.

Do you know how to get clients more in the feild for movie and video game producers? I cant seem to make pop music usually and I have tried reaching out to electronic record labels but to no avail.

I would think about connecting with small game developers and content creators. Maybe get started with mobile game creators and KZitemrs and TikTok creators. Try to create relationships with some shared equity in some short films or mobile games.
