What strategies are you using to attract clients to your business?

Hi Katherine, about the incentives to get referrals: do you use actual gift cards or how do you assure the first client that incentive?

I printed a gift certificate in the form of a physical piece of paper. I had it professionally printed, but you could print it from a color copier. Are you in the Essential Forms course? I've been meaning to add it as a sample there...

How do you hire help for larger houses? Do you have to contract? How do you do that legally? How do you charge the client then?

Are you enrolled in my course - katherine-lawrence.teachable.com/p/essential-forms-for-professional-organizers/?product_id=1785970&coupon_code=7HR90W I have a rachel r in there, so I wanted to check. There is a sample contract in that course along with a video explanation. Its commonly referred to as "team organizing". I charge my clients by the session, so a session with multiple organizers has a higher rate. As far as legality you'll want to check with your local attorney. My business is an llc and I've either had employees on jobs with me or had a contract with other llc's

@@KatherineLawrenceCPO Can you contract as a sole proprietor? And how do you set up a contract? So you pay them hourly and then the client pays you whatever? Have contractors gotten upset about that?

Business owners pay employees and contractors hourly rates and that rate is different than the price of the job because they have admin cost, marketing cost, and other overhead. I would absolutely check with your local employment commission and/or attorney because you will need to account for payroll taxes and other fees. Don't be afraid to set up a legit business!!! Employees and contractors will allow you to generate more sales and take on larger projects.
