thank you so so much for breaking this down! I'm currently getting my masters in mental health counseling and I want to specifically work with athletes.

I just got accepted into a grad school counseling program last week and I'm excited. One of the interview questions was in relation to what I wanted to do within the field. I was open and honest that I had no idea because the field is so vast, and there's so many avenues. You don't really know for sure until you know what the options are. Afterwards, I reflected on the question and thought to myself "it'd be awesome to find a way to help support athletes in the mental health field." Then I came across this today, and it was nice to see this path exists. Very informative, and I appreciate the video. I could easily see myself pursuing this after I acquire licensure.

New subscriber, love your content. I am starting a clinical mental health counseling masters this summer looking to be an LPC. I had no idea being a CMPC was an option. Any insight as to what mentors charge for hours?

Thank you so much for this, love your content. Any advice on studying for the CMPC exam without enrolling for an online class that costs thousands of $$? Have my MA, nearly done with LPC hours, working on finding a mentor for my CMPC hours. Thanks for the work you're doing.

I currently have my LMSW and I realize that getting the CMPC certification will help me be able to provide mental health services to the athletes in my community but I know that I need mentorship. Do you provide mentorship?

Hi my name is Andre Paul and I will be graduating from the University of Bridgeport in Connecticut with a bachelors degree in psychology next month. I will attend into a psychology research based master’s program this fall coming up. Will this choice of a master’s program guide me to the right direction of becoming a sports psychologist within and potentially getting a CMPC within the near future? And what training opportunities can I be involved with this summer that can help me start up my individual hours in order to receive my CMPC certification down the line?

hi! super helpful video, thank you! i do have a question: i have 2 masters degrees (clinical psychology and mental health counseling) but haven't had a sports psych class as part of my curriculum (sports psych was never offered). will this affect me obtaining a CMPC? if so, how do i go about this? Thank you!

Hello Taylor, No this will not affect you obtaining your CMPC since you already have a master's degree it will give you grace. Now all you have to do is find a CMPC mentor/supervisor and get your hours signed off by them in order to sit in on the exam.

I have a Positive Psychology, M.S. And I’ve also coached college for 3yrs. Would getting an LPC, help get the CMPC or can I get the certificate right now?

You can qualify for both exams just depends on the curriculum and classes you took in order to get the M.S. however, with the CMPC you must obtain the hours first under supervision to qualify and sit in on the exam.

Hi Ardran! Just wanted to see how your CMPC journey was going? Have you begun a mentored experience?
