About tickets: Some trams only have the old-style ticket machines, accepting coins only. However, keep in mind that you can also purchase your tickets at the ticket machines at Hauptbahnhof directly. Good video nevertheless!

The Viennese can travel by bus, tram, underground and S-Bahn for just 365 Euros a year on Vienna's excellent and extensive public transport network. Apartment rents in Vienna are also comparatively cheap because the city has itself built a large number of mansions and rents them.

concise and informative as ever, I still remember arriving inWestbahnhoff after an epic journey from Barcelona when inter-railing. Proper back in the day arrived about 11 at night no cash, only travellers checks. Ended up being given some money by a 'working girl' who took pity as I had nowhere to stay and no food and told where the all night bar was and to nurse a couple of drinks until morning lol. Ended up sleeping in a photobooth machine at about 6 in the morning till about 8 then went to find a bank so I could cash a cheque.

Thank you, nonstop eurotrip! Ah, a streetcar! I don't like trams, well not often. It's very fashionable and it greatly changes the urban morphology of city centers. I much prefer the subways. I love the subways. I don't know the geographical location of Vienna at all, but I think a VAL-type metro would have been welcome. I love VAL-type metros, like the ones you can see in Toulouse. Otherwise, you showed everything well, including the beautiful blue double-decker train that you showed us at the end. Do you really have to go up and down all those stairs? Pffiou. It's like we're there. Thanks again to you. So I love 1) the trains 2) the RER 3) the subways 4) exceptionally, the trams I thought at 3:34 that you would show your face ... but no. Not obligated but more sympathetic. Yours sincerely.

Ah it's cool that Vienna has the metro !!! I love that. Yeah, my favorite trams are the ones in Montpellier and the T2 in Paris, from Porte de Versailles to Bezons (wonderful ride). On the other hand, T3 is always crowded. Otherwise, I love subways 1, 4, 14 and RER A and B.

@@johndornoff Normally it is easier to go to the Meidling station where all trains to/from west and south stop and then take the U6 underground line to the Westbahnhof. There is less distance and everything is accessible by elevators. The Westbahn used to alternate their trains to Westbahnhof and Hauptbahnhof - Praterstern, but now reduced their offers because they sold many of their trains to Deutsche Bahn and have not received their new ones from Stadler. From Hauptbahnhof or Meidling you could also take the commuter line S80 to Hütteldorf and enter the Westbahn trains there. The ÖBB and foreign companies go to all directions except northwest from Hauptbahnhof.
