1- Make sure you have an insurance policy that covers acupuncture services. Insurance policies that cover acupuncture will NOT cover eye treatment (unless there is eye pain), but they will most often cover pain-related conditions.
2- If you have an acute or chronic pain condition, let the doctor know about it. We will treat that pain condition at the same time we treat your eye condition.
3- If you do NOT have acute or chronic pain then we CANNOT bill for that condition, and you will NOT be able to submit to insurance for reimbursement. Remember most insurance companies cover pain treatments only.
4- Receive a statement with CPT and ICD codes from our clinic and submit and receive your reimbursement check from your insurance companies.
NOTE: Some insurance companies have a cap on the number of treatments they will cover in a given year.
Feel free to reach out to us with any insurance-related questions that you may have.
