Nice as usual! Question: is it the Helium or Serum machine? Am I correct in thinking that when dealing with uncut roughs we are better off with larger roughs (say more than 10 Ct each)? I am of this opinion since, even on a rough a larger stone can be classified a bit better! Is it customary when buying a rough to ask the Seller to cut a window on a small corner to check color, clarity & inclusions? Which other recommendations do you have. Keep up with your videos

I believe both the Sarin and the Helium both have the capability to scan a diamond and determine best way to cut it. I have used the Sarin to check diamonds for ideal measurements / cut grade, just not for rough. As far as asking the seller to cut a window to view the diamonds color/clarity - I have no idea. I have worked in all aspects of this business with the exception of buying rough. I know the process, and what to do (somewhat), but never needed to involve myself in a deal. I prefer cut, polished goods. They have already been through the kimberley process and ready to go. Thanks for the comment and watching!

I would search locally for a gemologist to verify what you have, then find a trade (if rough diamonds) and a diamond buyer if cut/polished diamonds. Rough diamonds are difficult to sell.

How can I clearly identify a clear diamond from a crystal (no tool used).

You always need proper tools for gemological work. At the least, a loupe. After you have inspected thousands of diamonds you can tell the visible difference from a diamond and a crystal.
