Hi @YayaHerrera-nu2rq I'm glad you found the video helpful. The Birth Certificate will not come in the mail as well, it will just be made available to download by PDF. It is accepted in all official capacities in Mexico, no matter the office. (They usually want it printed for the month you use it, oddly.) If you are referring to a county clerks office in the U.S. or abroad, it SHOULD be accepted but I can't be too certain, as I've never made use of it other than for use in Mexico. I hope that helps! 😊

Hey Elias! On minute 7:07 of the video, if you click on that red button to download (or “descargar”) the birth certificate, it should download to your device automatically. If it doesn’t, I would save that confirmation code on the screen that it gives you after your payment is confirmed. Hi! Your content has been EXTREMELY helpful! Just using your videos tonight I was able to get a CURP and download my dad's birth certificate all from home! Thank you so much! I have read ALL the comments and browsed several videos but nothing seems to address my issue: One of the requirements is an ID from your Mexican born parents. I do not have that. I have no contact with my dad.(Mexican born but now US naturalized) I understand from your responses to other comments that I should go to the registro civil as they may be more lenient. However what do I do for the ID portion? Thanks in advance!
@MixedinMexico
4 ай бұрын
Hi @georgianadiaz Thank you for the kind compliment; I appreciate it and I'm glad to know my videos have been helpful for you. In regards to securing your dual citizenship through your Mexican father, while the Registro Civil offices in Mexico have more leniencies in what they can allow for, they will all still require an official Mexican ID for your Father when you go to Register your birth. You will need either his Mexican Passport, his Mexican INE card, or a Matricular Consular ID for him, if he has one. They understandably have to be strict with adherence to this rule, due to the prevalence and potential for fraud [especially with so many duplicate names in Mexico]. I hope that answers your question. Feel free to reach out with any other questions you may have.

Hey Elias. Thanks for watching the video. A similar situation happened with my mother-in-law. Her hometown in Mexico hasn’t fully gone electronic yet so she decided to have someone she knew from there go to their Registro Civil office and get her birth certificate for her. It was just faster than the Consulate for when she needed it; but in theory…a Registro Civil appointment at the Consulate Office should be able to take care of it as well.

Hi Zayed. I am not 100% sure on if the Registro Civil office at the Consulate will be able to assist with that amendment, as that is usually handled by the municipality or federal entity in Mexico where the birth occurred; but it doesn't hurt to try. I would start by sending the consulate an email or reaching out via phone; if possible. Below, I will also link some helpful resources that may assist you: 1. The phone directory for the Raleigh, North Carolina Consulate: consulmex.sre.gob.mx/raleigh/index.php/inicio/directorio 2. Link to the FAQs on the Mexican government website; one is in regards to amending incorrect data and instructions for emailing the federal entity for corrections: www.gob.mx/actas/articulos/preguntas-frecuentes-119110 3. A directory list of all the Registro Civil Offices in Mexico; with their addresses, phone numbers, and emails by locations: consulmex.sre.gob.mx/raleigh/images/PDFs/DIRECTORIO_2021.pdf I hope that helps!

Check the local churches of their place of birth and look for baptismal records. Once the church can confirm their baptism, they can give you a constancia of baptism. The local civil can use this to register the birth. That’s how I found my great grandmother and she was born 1907. I made the trip personally to some little pueblo in southern chihuahua. I too got no response from my local consulate. I took care of everything in Mexico instead. Smaller town’s civiles are far less crowded than major cities.

Great video! Thank you for this. Is anyone else having issues paying? I'm in the US and have tried multiple cards, both Visa and MC and the payment keeps getting denied. I'm not sure if this has to do with the 4th step where it has you enter your name, first last name and then second last name...

Hey Oscar! No problem. Sorry you’re having problems paying; I haven’t encountered that, as of yet. I hope someone can reply below and assist, as they overcome this issue. For what it’s worth, I have heard of individuals using VPNs for Mexico and having better success from other Mexican government sites. I hope that helps!

@@MixedinMexicoI finally got it to work and to tell you the truth, I’m not sure how…but here’s what I did. I currently live in the US (Texas). I used my computer and used Mozilla Firefox and edge and it didn’t work. I tried on my phone using Safari and it didn’t work. I tried VPN and used Mexico as my location, both on my phone and computer and it didn’t work. I randomly decided to try it again (2 weeks later) on my computer using Firefox (no vpn) and turned off my ad blockers and then when it came time to pay, it took my payment. Don’t think the ad blockers had anything to do with it since I also tried on my iPhone using Safari and I don’t have ad blockers on it so I’m not sure what the difference was. Thank you for your help and I hope this helps someone in the future

What if you get no results?
@MixedinMexico
9 ай бұрын
@JaneeSeiter it could be that the birth certificate you are searching for is not yet on the online database, or information was entered incorrectly (on your end or theirs); or a number of other factors. It may be advisable to go in person to a Registro Civil office for more information. I hope that helps!

@MixedinMexico

Hi @Stephanie It has been our experience that this birth certificate will serve as an official copy, even on regular printer paper. We have used this printed version to handle several government appointments here in Mexico, without a problem; even when the appointment requirements call for "original and copy". I hope this helps!

Is there a way to obtain the birth certificate in an English version
@MixedinMexico
4 ай бұрын
@ismaelcastelan4495 From the Mexican government? No. But once you have your official Mexican Birth Certificate, it's quite an easy process to get it translated into English by a professional translator. I hope that helps!

I was born in the United States but my parents registered me in Mexico so I also have a birth certificate from Mexico would I be able to obtain a passport with just that information also is this what I would need to be considered a dual citizen
@MixedinMexico

Hi Roberto! Having both birth certificates verifies your dual citizenship! Having 2 passports will simply make travel between the two countries easier. Your Mexican birth certificate is the crucial document needed to acquire your passport for Mexico; so you are already one step ahead! What else you will need (as far as supporting documents) depends on which country you decide to get your Mexican Passport in; whether that be IN Mexico at an SRE office or in the US at a Mexican Consulate. You may find this video to be of assistance: kzitem.info/news/bejne/opWY2nuen4iFiKA I hope that helps!

I have a Mexican birth certificate. Born in Mexico in 1953. Both my parents were US citizens. My birth certificate list two last names. All my US ID only lists my paternal last name. This has created a very difficult situation for me getting a Mexican passport. The Mexican consulate in NC has told me to legally change my name and update all my US ID. This simply will not work for me. Any suggestions how I can get a Mexican passport? Will Mexico deport me if I over stay an FMM? BTW, my US passport list my birth place as Mexico. I also have a CURP.

Hi Gil. That sounds very frustrating. I'm sorry you have to deal with that. If you strongly desire to get your passport at a Mexican Consulate, I would either reach out to the Registro Civil office in Mexico where your birth was registered to see what the process would be to amend your name on the birth certificate; OR add both names to either your U.S. driver's license or passport and use whichever is easier to change along with your Mexican birth certificate that matches the name. They seem to be very particular when it comes to this at the consulates. As an alternative; Since you already have your Mexican birth certificate, I would simply get your Mexican passport at an SRE office IN Mexico, if at all possible. It may prove to be a lot easier than changing your names for the Consulate in the U.S. You may have to get a Mexican driver's license or an INE, if you don't already have one, as a supplementary form/proof of ID; but that shouldn't be too difficult. And as far as getting deported for over staying your FMM; the answer is/should be no. Because you are a Mexican citizen and possess a Mexican birth certificate, at most, you will pay a fine for accidentally coming in as a tourist. I hope this helps!

@@MixedinMexico Thanks for this valuable information. I've checked every resource I could find and your advice agrees with the best information I've been able to find. My wife & I love traveling in Mexico and given the crazy political situation here in the US, Mexico has always been our safe place if things get ugly here. Again, Many Thanks Gil

@MixedinMexico

Hi. For me, the RFC is not marked with an asterisk(*) and is not a required field, but if you are curious as to what the RFC is, I did make a video on the subject. In the video, I also give the generic RFC for foreigners and those without an RFC, as of yet. Maybe that will work for you. I hope that helps! kzitem.info/news/bejne/2qxn362Ehop3lW0

I was able to use the curp # as the RFC all you do is cut off the last 5 numbers. Then we’re it says municipio I put my County and we’re it says población and colonia i just put my city. That’s the only way I was able to get my mothers birth certificate. Hope this helps!

If you access the website from the USA there’s an asterisk for the RFC. Just use the CURP. Now the problem I’m having is that when I click “Proceder al Pago” it takes me to a white error page that says “405 Not Allowed” 😭

Hi Joanna! Their first step would be to either make a "Registro Civil" appointment at a Mexican Consulate or to actually go in person to a Registro Civil Office in Mexico and register the birth. If you would like to know what's needed for the appointment or how to make it, here are two videos that may prove helpful: Registering your birth: kzitem.info/news/bejne/2attr4xpqGmQbHo Consulate Appointment: kzitem.info/news/bejne/mZ6lmmqfhYd3o5w

Hi Zoe! 😊 Thanks for tuning into the channel. As of yet, I do not have a recommendation for an English speaking Immigration Lawyer because I’ve gone through all the processes on my own; without a lawyer. Living here though has allowed me to network and meet many reputable professionals; so if I do come across any good ones in the future, I’ll be sure to mention it in a video.

Hi. It could be that there is an error [either in the date or spelling] that doesn't match what the official record says or it could be that the state of your birth hasn't entered your birth certificate into the online system yet. I would reach out to the Registro Civil office in Mexico where your birth was registered for a physical copy, or assistance with entering the correct data on the online portal.
