hi! I was curious what you would recommend for lighting a backdrop video? I noticed the video vs. the photos looked quite different. (: thanks in advance for your help! Loved the video

Hi Ashley, you’ll need continuous light sources for video. The reason why the photos look so different is because I’m using flashes that are more powerful than continuous lights and the camera only picks them up in that fraction of a second when they flash. I recommend the continuous lights from Godox, for instance like this one: amzn.to/3PXpEEE

Wow. I just ordered 5 of the 5x7 backdrops. Looks like Kate will be the only one to order from. It's tiring getting something that is different from what is shown on a website. Thank you for this video.

This is a great video. Love the ideas. I’ve been wanting to do a shoot with plant shadows so when this was in the video I found it helpful. Just curious though, was the shot without fill or did you end up using fill? In the diagram there’s a strobe more angled and pointing through the plants but in the video you have a strobe with a reflector dish and barn door almost pointed directly at the model. Did that one end up getting placed there as fill? Thanks 😊
@AndreaDomjanPhotography
2 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your question and good catch on the reflector with the barn door! I actually ended up using one light only on the left side as shown on the lighting diagram but I was testing if I should add another light pointed directly at the model’s face but did not like what that did for me. I hope this clarifies, I’m here if you have more questions!

There were really only a few wrinkles and you can remove them with a steamer or by ironing them. I used a steamer as you can see at the beginning of the video.
