I have to replace my back door, which looks like a French door, except the right side is false and the left door swings inward. It's also center hinged. This video came out just in time for me! "Why are people complaining about their door not working well". The time has come for me to uncover the biggest secret of our time. In every house I owned exterior doors had problems simply because THEY WERE INCORRECTLY INSTALLED. Not plumb, not level, not square, cross-legged and with not enough proper screws. Doors must install themselves - I see no other way to end this plague. Self-adjustable sill? When they see it, they won't even try to level the door, and it'll fail.

Matt thanks very much. While I appreciate this is for builders its also helps owners/buyers make better decisions. After owing 9 properties in 3 different continents (& renovating each one) you learn a certain amount but nothing like this. My experience particularly in the UK is that there is a huge gap between what manufacturers products can do and the skill level of trades. I saw this particularly when buying expensive custom interior fire doors (with frames & seals) that the installer put in poorly and which I then had to fix. We had to use these in a 90 year old concrete apartment because building control (local govt) mandated these along with a fire suppression system, however they never actually come on site to check whether they have been installed correctly before giving final sign off.
