I said it before and I'll say it again: you are going for the wrong market. Make sure I can give this app to my customer so he can scan his home giving me the data, so I could give him a cost estimate without giving too much data to the customer (so he does not run with it to my competitors). That would greatly enhance my income and make my life much easier.

Unfortunately, we cannot restrict who they share the project with.. However, if you share a project on the web, you can decide what the other person can or cannot see, so if you want them to see only the estimate, just enable that option and disable the rest. Thank you for the video. I'm a kitchen designer, so I get that sometimes your accuracy is acceptable at 95%, but I need more precision. I appreciate this video so much to help get a start on using this service. One quick note - When measuring doors & windows, I like to use the outside of the trim as my reference point. Should I be using target cards that come with the laser? Any suggestions would be great.

How do i scan roof surfaces, dormers and roof windows? Magicplan dont recognize them. I use Magicplan daily at Work. The workflow in 50% empty rooms without roof surfaces is ok, but it feels like pain when it comes to rooms in the roof flor or rooms with a lot of stuff in it.

Unfortunately, in the current version of magicplan it is not possible to add sloped ceilings. You can only add a flat roof as an extra floor and you can also indicate the different elevations within a room with an annotation(tap on Insert >Object >Annotations >Elevation. Tap on the Edit option of the object and insert the elevation). However, our developers are actively working on this feature.🙏🏻

I want to use such a device with a plastic corner-cube reflector plate, which reflects THOUSANDS as much back in the direction of the emitter than a white paper-like surface. (See Lambertian reflector.) I want to measure 500, 1000, 2000 meters, with a resolution of 1 millineter . Problem is, I don't think the device will 'wait for' such a delayed reflection, even when it arrives late. And, of course, the display doesnt have sufficient digits to display this.

Hi Jim, what would your question for us be? I have never seen a room that is 2.000 meters wide, so in general, for a normal to big room the laser works flawlessly. magicplan is an app that is developed to be used inside a building, not outside. does it increase room proportionally? for example if you clarified size of bigger wall, did it change opposite walls proportionally? Also i like that you know limitation of your program or having room for mistake, because other programs sometimes have this tendency "i can't be wrong, f off"
@magicplan
7 ай бұрын
Hi there 😊 It depends, if you lock the measurements (so if you tap on the blue number and edit that manually or with the laser) it will not change automatically. The app will ask you if you are sure before it changes a measurement that is locked. If it is not locked, then yes, the opposite wall will change proportionally.

Have you considered trying a different method to create your rooms, such as the LiDAR Auto-Scan feature? It could be faster than connecting the laser and measuring each wall individually, though it ultimately depends on your preference. Hi there 🙂 you can actually create a room with the most singular form, with curved walls and so on, not only a squared room! You could use the function "add corner" too to create extra space/corners or try the "define corners" function to draw your room manually. If you want, have a look at these links: help.magicplan.app/create-a-room-with-the-define-corners-feature & to add curved walls> help.magicplan.app/add-curved-walls

I have a 4200 sq ft two-story home and tried using MP. I have 24' ceilings in entry and living rooms, with loft areas above, large open arches connecting various rooms, column walls between rooms, stairwells, a front turret which gives a curved wall in the entryway. It was time-consuming and didn't turn out great. Some of it was probably me, but for my complex home layout it was not very intuitive. Would probably work great for a simpler home layout.
