To apply for a US R1 visa, which is designated for religious workers, you need to be sponsored by a non-profit religious organization in the United States that is registered with the IRS. The R1 visa allows you to work in roles such as an imam, cleric, or other religious functions. Here are the general steps to apply for an R1 visa: Employer Petition: Your sponsoring organization in the US must file Form I-129, Petition for Nonimmigrant Worker, with the US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). This form includes evidence of your religious qualifications and the religious nature of the organization. USCIS Approval: Once the I-129 petition is approved by USCIS, you can apply for the R1 visa. Visa Application: Apply for the R1 visa at a US embassy or consulate in your country. This involves submitting a visa application, paying the visa fee, providing documentation of your religious qualifications, and participating in an interview. Visa Issuance: If your application is successful and the visa is issued, you can travel to the US to start your religious work.

I have a F-1 visa. Just graduated as a Christian Counselor. I applied for the OPT which was approved. My church (baptist) invited me to start a Ministry of Christian Counseling there. I will start the Ministry while being under my OPT. But, after one year I should quit the job. I thought a R-1 visa would solve this problem. So, can I apply for a R-1 visa to perform Christian Counseling there? I am in the States, if I apply for the R-1 visa from here, can I travel to my home country and come back? If not, as the submission of the process is by internet, can I apply from here and make the interview in my home country? Thank you! Already subscribed in the channel! 🙃

Look at the eligibility principles to know you can apply for it or not. Yes, you can apply from inside.

Christian counselors are eligible to apply for an R-1 visa, but it's crucial to get legal counsel before doing so. Although you can apply for the R-1 visa from within the United States, going back to your home country while applying might have consequences.

one question about myself, can i go to USA as my age is 50???
@visalibrary
Жыл бұрын
Yes, you can travel to the USA at the age of 50. Age is not a barrier for entering the USA as a tourist or for various purposes. However, the specific requirements and purposes of your visit, such as tourism, business, or family visit, might influence the type of visa you need and the documentation you'll need to provide. Always check the U.S. embassy or consulate website for the latest visa information and requirements based on your individual circumstances.

Can i schedule r1 visa interview in another country?
@visalibrary
Жыл бұрын
Yes, you can arrange a US R1 visa interview in another country; but, you must be lawfully present in that nation and determine whether the embassy or consulate facilitates third-country processing. It might also mean more processing time, taxes, and potential travel dangers and expenditures.

If we are sponsoring a team of 4 religious workers. Do single invitation letter work for all of them by including their names. Or it has to be separate for each one?
@visalibrary
Жыл бұрын
Each religious worker seeking an R1 visa to visit the United States must present their letter of invitation from the sponsoring religious group, including their name and position. It is advised that separate letters be sent to each worker to minimize confusion and explicitly clarify their conditions and tasks.

If you are looking for assistance with a visa R1 request in New York, your first step should be to consult a qualified immigration lawyer. An immigration lawyer can provide you with all the relevant information and assistance you will need as you begin applying for your visa. They can advise you on the necessary paperwork, provide guidance on which immigration laws and regulations apply to you, and answer any questions you may have about the visa process. Furthermore, an immigration lawyer can assist in preparing your visa application, filing it on your behalf, and representing you in any hearings or appeals related to your visa. I would like to inform you that consulting with a lawyer is essential to ensure your visa request is approved.

Private worship, prayer, meditation, informal religious study, and participation at religious events or conferences in the United States are all permissible under a visitor (B) visa. Furthermore, a guest visa is often ideal for religious ministers who wish to visit the United States temporarily and whose pay and reimbursement will be provided by their own religious organisation outside the United States.
