That's really smart idea! The scientific process is called evapotranspiration. Its the moisture that evaporates from surface of leaves. The softer the leaf, (not hard or waxy feeling like an Aloe) the more moisture the leaf loses through evaporation. Just as a note to get more liquid out of your brilliant idea. Cheers

Whoa! Wait a minute. Where’s the sales pitch, just what new product are you advertising with your walk in the woods today? What?!! A plastic bag and a tree. Oh, that’s right, you’re actually teaching bushcraft and not selling something. There’s two types of bushcraft channels today. The infomercials bushcraft channels and the real teaching and demonstrating bushcraft channels. You’re a real bushcraft channel. I learned a survival technique today from you. Thank you. I didn’t learn about the latest have to have it knife that’s going give you 15 more rope cuts or a backpack that has 2 more pockets and a revolutionary new drawstring that’ll make all the the other “bushcrafters” jealous. Thanks for not being a sellout.

I have some gear reviews. But not product pushes. Nothing of mine is sponsored. Im not going to put a product on here I havnt messed with.

caveman cody I just finally hit the wall with bushcraft channels that are nothing but infomercials for the latest product. Designer Bushcraft. They slowly creeped in or transitioned from teaching and practicing to selling a sponsor’s product. I realize some of them want to earn a living in a field they enjoy, but I don’t need another knife. I expect to see and hear comments on something the person making the video is trying, but when it’s all about selling, then it’s a product review channel, not a bushcraft channel. Yours is a bushcraft channel that I enjoy learning from like Dave Canterbury or Far North Bushcraft with Lonnie. Thanks for something good and worthwhile that makes a difference.

exactly. I want to make some side money too. But im aiming for a large fan base and to grow. Going to new locations and terrains and demonstrating more and more things as the channel builds.

caveman cody That makes for a quality bushcraft channel. I do enjoy seeing what the host is using and who the manufacturer is, but when every video is a new product they’re pushing and not using as a mainstay, it gets to being ridiculous. It’s like kitchen appliances and gadgets, eventually, you get it down to a couple of things that you use all the time and you pretty much stick with that. I have a room full of pots and pans of different types, a room full. I finally settled on using one 9 inch cast iron skillet with a lid for everything or almost everything. Experience stands out when you have it down to what actually works and lasts. I appreciate your channel.

Hey Cody, thanks for this video, I'll be able to use this. With the poncho couldn't you bend the entire top of a tree over a little and cover a large area getting more water at one time. Just a thought. I think that hootie-owl wants a little of that water. There at the end I think you could just sit the cup out on a rock 'cos I heard thunder.
@CavemanCody

Yes with a whole ponch you could gather way more volume and produce more water per branch/tree
