As as competitive gymnast, these are really great tips but you can’t completely get your backhand spring in one day. These are really great drills tho, but what i struggled with the most was getting my legs straight and together. A good thing to imagine is there is a barrel mat we used these to help get over just imagine you jump and you back is landing on a barrel mat. A really really big thing is to LOCK your arms if you don’t you come crashing down. A you want to have a really big jump and stretch your backhand spring out Hope these kinda helped 😊

Nothing to be scared of as long as you have a cushioned mat behind you. Learned my backhandspring all by myself (self taught) and I landed on my head on my first attempt when I was home alone but it didnt hurt because I had cushion underneath me. Once you get over the fear of going backwards a backhandspring is so easy. You won’t get hurt just go for it.

Just saying throw yourself back isn’t gonna help, what I did was do a backbend but each time you do your hands should get further away from the ground gradually while your jumping back with your feet onto your hands, do this until you start with your hands all the way up in the sky. Then practice swinging and jumping back. Hope this helped :)

It took me a while to get my back hand spring and a few tips that can help you get your back handspring is: - pushing your hips up Pushing your hips up helps your legs stay tight and together so your handsprings are not wobbly and messy. -locking your arms DEFINITELY lock your arms….or land on ur head -point your toes Pointing your toes helps keep your feet together, which makes it easier to keep your legs together - REACHING BACK I recommend reaching back, especially if your tall. You don’t want your handsprings to be short!
