Very cool idea. Kind of like it taps into the subconscious and people aren’t exactly thinking about it, they’re just doing it!

Fascinating to see the evolution of his thinking on 10/10 speed. I can remember some pretty heated discussions back in the day on the BBS site about the alleged superiority of 10/10 reps. As for focusing on the mid range: modern thinking is that hypertrophy is triggered by muscle tension, and this requires maximum cross bridge formation, which only occurs at the middle of the contraction range, not the extremes. Note that many pro bodybuilders seem to like to do a high number of pumping reps in the middle of the range of motion. Perhaps an example of physiology dictating form?

Quite possibly the best mind out there on the topic of HIT (and other random things).

8:00 - my first one was the baby blue, first edition in the very early 90’s. Even when it fell apart from reading it so much, I still carried it around with me, everywhere. I think we all had that effect from the technical manual. 👍👍👍

9:00 - I watched Juan (Mario) go into hyperkinetic dyskinesia twice, on Leg Press. He would go into a trance-like state, and continue effort until alerted otherwise. It’s was a little scary, actually.
