@@412teens hi I know this is off topic I’m so sorry but I just wanted to ask a quick question I know it sounds weird but I like mermaids I know it’s just fantasy and I’m not getting out of reality or anything but two years ago I bought a mermaid fabric tail with a mono fin that you can put on and swim with like a mermaid they are really popular tails and I loved it but I sort of put it away because of legalists saying that mermaids are demonic and evil creatures don’t drink or go to Starbucks because the logo has a siren and don’t wear makeup or jewelers cause it’s part of the marine kingdom and you hav e Jezebel marine spirit because of this I just wanted to ask does the Bible even talk about or mention this because this one guy was saying that mermaids are the woman punished and turned into sirens because they had children with with fallen angels all though I never read anything about them being turned into mermaids so is it wrong for me to like mermaids to pretend to be one for fun?

There is nothing morally or inherently wrong about enjoying mermaids--how they look, art, lore, etc. As an interest, it is completely OK to have fun with the idea of mermaids, just like someone who is interested in the Loch Ness monster or sasquatch might be interested. Those kinds of things can be really fun to dream about! More on the topic of mermaids here: www.gotquestions.org/mermaids-Bible.html Also, you are welcome to ask your questions on our site here: 412teens.org/qna/want-to-ask-a-question.php :)

@@412teens oh sorry and one last thing I’m kinda worried about my family’s salvation see I grew up in an eastern Greek Orthodox chruch the problem I have is my family has icons if you know what that is I don’t have an issue with images of Jesus but people in my church kiss icons and kneel I front of it but for the most part salvation is faith in Christ so they teach the real bible and everything but do you think this is wrong is my family saved I’m worried?

Hello, Please what does glorified in Philippians 1:20 - 21 mean? ... Christ will be glorified in my body, whether by life or by death. ¹And the expression - in MY BODY - I should understand it to mean that I will honor Him with MY LIFE. But then it makes no sense for me to honor Christ with my death. ²IN MY BODY - Does it specifically mean my body (or does it mean in ME as a person?) It can be said that: Christ will be glorified by my life or death. Or is there need "on my body"? 1. If glorifying means giving glory, then I don't understand what glory means (I thought glory = the beauty of God's power.) 2. Is there any word that is easy to understand and means the same as the word glorified? 3. If Glory is the same as praise and honor, then why is it said that all glory, praise and honor belong to God, because they are 3 different words and each of them has its own meaning or not? Philippians 1:21 And please what means "for me to LIVE is Christ" = It means that Christ is my life, or how to understand it best. Thank you very much for your understanding and explanation. Sorry for the very long comment, I just need to explain it so I can understand it as best as possible. Have a nice day.

For context on Philippians 1:20, please refer to this page on BibleRef: www.bibleref.com/Philippians/1/Philippians-1-20.html You can kind of think of "glorifying" as "magnifying" or "making apparent" God's presence, existence, and power. We want our lives to serve as PROOF that God exists, that He is powerful and sovereign, and that He loves us. So when we act or speak, those actions and words ought to show the goodness and glory of God. Does that help clarify a bit?

@@412teens Yes, thank you very much. I rather thought it meant to honor God because that is how some English translations (Esv, NLT, CSB) explain it.

Honoring God and glorifying God are very close to the same thing. :) There's no reason to get hung up on specific words though. God asks us to love Him and love people (Matthew 22:36-40), and that's a simple enough command!

@@412teens Yes, I just wanted to understand the interpretation of the verse Phippians 1:20 In Slovak it is written here " glorified " In English it is not specifically written here " glorified" but it is used to honor / honor in the new translations. * sorry, I've never really come across such a word. So I can use " to honor " here. It is the same. THANK YOU
