Closer camera to subject so as to better see the detail. Also add more light on subject matter with a reflector or additional light source. especially if you under shade. Great imfo !!

I'm slowly learning about film and have upgraded my camera and lights since this was made. I've always known plants. The learning curve was steep on film, audio, lights, edit, etc. Thanks for the kind comment and thanks for watching

Very good instruction! Just one improvement. Use some extra light focused on point of your proceedure.

I agree. I'm learning about film, editing, etc. I started this channel during covid to share videos with students and then started making public videos. I've learned a lot but still learning

What is the best time to do this grafting? Some deciduous trees are more successful to be grafted at the end of winter.

Most japanese maple grafting takes place in late winter and then again in mid summer. If you search my home page with the term japanese maples several grafting videos should pop up with the more traditional method. I tried this on a whim last fall and it worked so I did a video this year.

Being in the dome can extend the grafting season a little bit. It traps heat and humidity. If I was doing the traditional method it's getting late because I couldn't hold in heat during the night like the dome can.
