I am trying to grow out a red maple seeding that my MIL found sprouting in a crevice of her deck (usually the ones that sprout on her lawn get mowed down). It’s a hardy little thing, went from the size of a toothpick to about 1ft with so many leaves in a few months. I hope to grow it into a 20-30ft tree one day.

About a month ago someone gave me a few of those dried date things. I saved the seeds and gave them the paper towel treatment, and now they've started to grow roots. Should be a lot of fun.

Hello, your trees are beautiful, your videos are very useful. How old were you when you started planting trees? I planted trees when I was 10 years old. At that time, growing trees was very difficult, but thanks to your videos, I feel more confident. Thank you very much

Great timing, my ~10 year old parlor palm has started to flower/fruit. Hopefully it can self-pollinate.

if you pass by an Asian store, ask them if they have a coconut fruit with the husk still intact. buy a couple from them and then leave it in a bucket of water. in a couple of weeks you should see some growth. here in the tropics where it is hot and humid, we just leave it on the ground and in a short time it will germinate. have fun looking for the coconut.

There are some plants that are approaching 2-3 years but most videos only contain about 6 months of footage. I think the covid plant is actually an entire year even tho it doesnt seem like it grew much

I have a date palm in it's 5th year. It's struggling but not a waste yet. I love dates. I cleaned a few pits and started them. Out of 7, 1 actually made it this far along. Why I do this, I have not idea. Our winters drop into the single digits if not below. So, I cart this thing outside in June and back in as the temps start to drop in the fall.

I'm actually growing a happy little lemon tree because if you! Sadly, I don't think it will get to fruit because I live in Canada and lemon trees like warm environments. Any tips for growing them and keeping them happy for the temperate environment they live in?

A lot of palm fruits have oxalate crystals in their fruits, especially caryota/fishtail palms (which your bright red fruits look like). The rash can be incredibly irritating (and also is why one should never eat palm fruits is unsure are edible).
