Digging your channel, keep up the good work! For such a huge state we don't have enough gardening channels considering each large city has a different growing zone. Stick with it, with more regular vids and your channel will grow as well as your garden :)

I appreciate the comments. I agree, there should be more Texas based garden channels. It’s so different here than most other places.

i have a bunch of cherry tomato plants that i planted in march that are still producing tons of tomatoes. I knew that they did best in the heat and lasted longer in the season, but never expected them to go this long. :-)

Awesome. I have tried keeping large tomatoes through the fall, but the cherry and grape size do much better.

I'm NW of Houston and the best hot weather cucumber I've found that not only survives the flames of hell but still produces, is an heirloom variety called White Wonder. The skins are a tad tougher than typical cukes and they'll get huge fast if you don't harvest regularly, but even then they don't get bitter as fast as the green cukes do. The taste is fabulous and almost more like a melon. Might be something fun to try if you can get the seeds.

I have seen those seeds before and almost ordered them. I’ll give them a try.

Thank you for your excellent video about Texas Gardening. I have great success with all kinds of peppers because they love the Texas heat. I planted Squash in July and they were doing great until the dreaded Squash Vine Borer Moth decided to lay their eggs on my zuchinni. I got one zuchinni until the larvae decided to hatch in my beloved plant. Have you had this problem?
@MyTexasYard
4 жыл бұрын
Yes. I have lots of SVB moths. They hit my zucchini squash first. Then the white scallop squash second. I’m still able to get a good life span on my squash even with the SVB. And I planted more squash for the fall.

I work at a local nursery in North Texas and I am thinking about starting a gardening Channel. what are some tips or recommendations that you can give me for getting started?
@MyTexasYard
4 жыл бұрын
I’m pretty new to it myself. But I would say make videos for a specific audience. Don’t try to make videos that will please all people, because that won’t happen lol. Be personal, not fake. And get a good microphone.
@Beeplabeep

Hey you should still do the videos- it's hard finding NTX specific growing channels. Even short ones for little things you've picked up on. Or short comparisons to things like different root powders (bc they were all the same when I read the ingredients lol, but maybe not everyone does that).

20 min north of Austin. As long as you continue to build soil it won’t matter what type of soil you have. Most of my plants now grow in the new soil I built on top of the bad soil.
