Is this true? Sometimes people post things like this, but they aren't true and it wastes people's time. IDK why they do it, but I've seen it, so I have to ask. I found a some delicious blueberries with a bunch of seeds in them and since I'm in the middle of planting my garden so I wanted to know if they could be of use to me right now. I wasn't sure what to do with them so I googled it and I've read other places that you have to do more than that to get the very bushes to grow. So if it does work like this, I want to give it a try!

As someone that comes from a family owned blueberry farm and blackberries, it takes a lot of work have berries, and once the plant starts producing berries the plant itself doesn’t grow because it puts all its nutrients in to the berry. For us we took off the blossoms for the first couple of season to let the plant grow. Also the plants need a high ph in the soil.

Both coffee grounds and pine needles supplying acidity are both myths. But coffee grounds DO still have their acidity BEFORE making hot hyper bean water. Also if you do use fresh coffee grounds youll need to add them often to the soil because they dont work their magic for very long. Also coffee grounds kill worms so dont use it in your compost.

No ‘Cinnamon?’ Alright, ok u have definitely inspired me to grow my own. Especially after the grocery total last night I’m not going to say how much it cost for 5 bags and a case of Gatorade 🤨!!! But I did pay $7.59 for 1 pint of organic blueberries 🫐, for my daughter she loves them. This time last year organic blueberries 🫐 where $2.29/2.39 for 1 pint of organic blueberries. So I’m definitely going to try growing them. Generally speaking how long does it take for 1 bush to start producing blueberries 🫐?

Just take bananas and/ or peels and water then blend it with a blender. U don’t want much banana if you do use the fruit itself U can just use the peel and put it in water to defuse for a night then use that water for small blueberry plants mainly seedlings bc they need more potassium then they do nitrogen.
@eduardbass839

Sidenote: your first yield will be around 200 grams if everything goes well with 400 the next year and it increasing year after year until the bush reaches maturity at 6 to 8 years. That is if you have atleast 1 other plant for cross pollination and two more are recommended actually otherwise you will get only a suboptimal yield. Please remember that the soil should be acidic or the plant won’t grow well. 5 lbs you can expect 5 years from now.

There are a lot of comments on here about the soil requirements of blueberries. I’m no farmer but anecdotally I have an enormous blueberry bush in my yard. It produces thousands of blueberries. It’s easily 7 feet tall. And probably a 6 foot or more in diameter. It was planted by a previous owner and I do nothing for it. And it has thrived for years. Maybe I’m just in a good location, but that is my experience.
