Is there a cottage garden flower more iconic than the hollyhock? For us here in Denmark, they are true symbols of summer.
And now, it's time to sow hollyhock seeds for next year... and we're bringing you along for the fun. From starting seeds to how to pot on hollyhocks, sowing these seeds already now in autumn is a great way to make sure that your seedlings are big enough to already make a difference next spring.
If you're using seeds that you've collected from hollyhocks that have finished flowering, seeds from perennial varieties are best sown right away in the autumn as they need a period of cold to help them germinate. Seeds saved from biennial types can be stored and sown the following year. So check to see what works best for you and which variety you have.
As always, if you have any questions, drop us a note in the comments.
