I've been watching your videos for a while to get tips while starting out, but I'm finally properly delving in now I'm focusing on my channel. For a little context, I started around 9 months ago as a hobby, reached affiliate a few months ago, now just over 150 followers and 15 average viewers. I love it more and more with each stream, so now's the time to improve for myself and my viewers! I really enjoy how your videos focus on creative ways to engage and connect with viewers. Honestly, you couldn't pay me not to do it, and I definitely never think of it as a means to an end, but it really is the best thing about twitch to meet new friends, hang out with them (in my stream, theirs, or mutual friends') and get told something I did was really creative or really made them laugh. So I love the very first tip in the video, and I've been mulling it over all day. I'm not trying to reach my first few viewers, so it's probably not something I'd "need" to do, but it sounds like a blast. I'm trying to think of how to adapt something similar for what I do (variety to be fair - language study streams, games, art, etc). If I come up with a fun spin on it, I'll let you and the channel know :) Definitely think I'll implement the tip to reiterate to my mods and regulars that it's super important to me to greet new people, ask my 'new chatter' question, answer any questions, etc. It's extremely important to me, and I've even seen some channels with channel values alongside channel rules in a panel, which I might do too.

Ok, I watched gazmillion videos regarding "Twitching" "YouTubing" "Growth", and I just needed one video from a person saying - hey its hard, but this is how *I* did it. Its not a rule for everyone but this is excellent starting point especially for saturated gaming market. This is THE video every small streamer should be watching, imo. You were genuinely helping and not just presenting tricks that work in the short term only. If we look at all of the advice, they are very logical. Should almost be common sense, really. I guess they are not because of two things you mentioned: wanting to grow fast + not critically analyzing one's own work. Those hinder growth for many. I'm glad I'm already doing some of the things you mentioned. The consistency is the major issue, but there's only so much I can do while having a job and a family with children. Very good advice indeed! Your video covers everything accurately. From personal experience I believe the thumbnail is a big deal and I'll tell you why. 3 years ago I gave it a shot to stream on Twitch, I am a bit of a perfectionist so since day 1 I made everything look and sound as professional as possible. I started streaming PUBG (about a month or so after it was released) in my native language given that the amount of streamers in my country on this game were pretty limited and their stream quality pretty basic. Well, day 1 after an hour or so with 4 viewers (my friends) I got raided by a famous League of Legends streamer who wanted to check PUBG streams. 200+ viewers, I got quite stunned and had no idea how to deal with that but I managed to hold up and go along with it. Trust me, nothing prepares you for the chaos of a raid on day one. Later that day, I decided to ask the raider what made him to pick my stream and he explained that my thumbnail looked good, checked my stream and he liked that I put some work into it. That being said, in case anyone is interested what happened in the long run, well... I continued streaming for 2 months, the channel kept growing but I always saw it as a hobby and prioritized other stuff over it, then one day I just stopped, not intentionally but due to heavy load with my work I wasn't able to keep up with it and disappeared.

I did level requests in geometry dash to grow, the community in geometry dash community is big but not too big and that was perfect. People would come by and drop their level id’s, and i would play them, give them criticism and people loved it. they would stick around and vibe with me and the other people waiting in line. I started doing races with viewers too and that wasn’t too popular, but i had a lot more fun and as of what i saw, i was one of the only streamers on twitch that was doing that type of stuff on geometry dash, i was small, but not rlly small. I guess what i’m trying to say is that, to grow fast, pick a game that you like that is not totally saturated, and try to make unique content. in my case, i brought the community together by displaying the levels of the viewers and later on, challenging them to races. getting your community involved with your content is one of the best ways to grow and it rlly helped me grow.

Everyone likes different things, I know a lot of people prefer a community where the chat is back and fourth. Tonights stream I only had a total of 3 viewers, a huge bummer and downgrade but watching this video to better learn on how to promote and attract viewers to my stream. This video is really a gem lol, thank you my man.

Hey Eljay, first off, thank you so much for the hard work and effort that you put into teaching us how to become better streamers, and creators as a whole. I took your advice on trying something different and have always been interested in a career within the gaming industry, and have had a passive interest in creative/narrative writing. So I took the experience that I had with writing through my academic studies and turned my Subnautica playthrough into a creative writing series on the blog that I started in tandem with it. I have shared it around to a few communities on Reddit that I thought would be interested and have received such positive feedback and awesome engagement! So thank you for giving me a bit of a shove to get going, because I have found something that I am incredibly passionate about doing and even if streaming doesn't lead anywhere, I feel that it has helped me grow in many new ways, both personally and professionally. Cheers man.

Hey Eljayem, just wanna let you know :) Your videos actually did help me create better streams and I just started yesterday [Malaysia time GMT +8:00] at 12:30PM. I followed what you said, schedule my stream, so I schedule it for weekends. At first, I don't have any viewers since I'm streaming music but I try streaming again today with better audio and engagement with myself It went well because I followed the tips you told in other videos. The only tips to it were engaging with the 1 and only viewer that then brings me another one that comes from the discovery page. And slowly it grew up to 4! This might be a small number for big streamers but it is a good start for me already. Will try to prevent dropped frames problem in my next stream since I already know what happened. Thank you so much! My VOD will show you what happened during the stream, there's a massive frozen frame when I reconnect back to the stream. Didn't expect this to happen... My solution to it was moving my computer to a place with a better connection, and that worked. I know this is not Streamlabs fault but my connection. So in my next week's live stream, I will go back to the same place :) Disclaimer: The 4 viewers only come after I troubleshoot everything that went wrong during the stream. Thank you very much Eljay! Loved your videos already! Been watching and researching before I start my stream but clearly not enough because I have to troubleshoot while I go live. Hope to see more Twitch streaming tips!

This video is very realistic and most of the tips have helped me a lot I’ve been streaming for around two weeks now and I got affiliated last week with an average of 7 viewers on among us I’m trying to push further I’ve recently been streaming with other streamers and we host each other regularly which brings each other a lot of viewers but I feel like I’m not progressing at a fast enough rate which is bringing down my confidence and motivation so idk how long I can keep this up without a more active community rn
@StreamScheme
4 жыл бұрын
You've got 7 average viewers after 2 weeks? That is fairly solid man, that is the same as me when I started, and a lot higher than most people after 2 weeks! Now you just need to keep them as a community and focus on consistency. Try not to rush, Twitch growth is fickle and it comes and goes as it pleases. Look for places you can improve that you can control and work on those while nurturing your current viewers into a community. Good work! Keep it up!

I don't have any viewers, but I have been clipping funny moments and posting them on my twitter account (with very little engagement). Once I'm finished I am hoping to compile a highlight reel with those clips and post it on KZitem to gain viewers. It is definitelychallenging, but at least I'm passionate about it and enjoying it.

To grow to 25 average viewers, you don't need a KZitem channel. A KZitem channel is also a huge amount of work for someone who wants to stream but isn't sure they can build an audience yet. I have a video coming out soon about growing a brand new channel from 0 - 1000 subs soon that explains why I don't recommend new streamers try to create a channel. Hope the video helped though! Hey mate, thanks for these vids. Just started streaming on twitch so looking to see ways to help grow and this is great. I'm at 22 days and 70hours streamed. All same game each night so far while I was trying to 100% it. Got a few randoms pop in to chat every now and then but never over 3 viewers. Then last night when I was in final stages of Ghost Recon wildlands and about to complete to 100% I maxed out at 5 viewers but got 2 extra new followers from that 3 hour session. Total of 10 followers now but 2 are family members haha. I am streaming direct from PS4 though so have mic but no cam. Anyway I'll keep plugging away at it and just keep playing the games I love and watching others too. Love your work man. Keep it up.

Honestly I started streaming at the start of December and I watched every piece of content i could on the matter. You have been super helpful to me and helping me go in the right direction. The holidays kinda killed what momentum I had going as my regular viewers stoped coming by because they went on holiday and I'm trying to stay positive with that and hoping they come back. But for how I got my first few I have to thank reddit and some creative writing on my part. I started posting to other things than just gaming as well, like I went over to the dark tower subreddit because I wanted to do a playthrough of fallout with one of the main guys from the book and the response was outstanding. Now I got a few follows but no extra viewers from the post, and really I was fine with that because when I was playing I had the mindset of going back to this post and updating it on everything that happened in game. Getting into a mind set of making content with every action really helped me out and gave me and what I was doing buzz, even though it was on another site. So the advice I could give is make what you are doing meaningful to you and even if you are streaming to no one make it for someone.
