Great video as always, in the UK we gave two big ones: - ATMIST (Age, Time of incident, mechanism, injuries/illness, signs/symptoms and treatment given) primarily for trauma and pre-alerts - SBAR (Situation, Background, Assessment, Reccomendations) mainly for non-emergent handovers SMAPLE gets intergrated in at points but i definitely know with HEMS they normally ask for a quick ATMIST via radio. And yes, those 0300hrs handovers hit different 😂

Is there any method for an Air Ambulance in flight to communicate with civilians at the pickup point? Cell phone? FRS Walkie-Talkie? Etc? OR can the folks on the ground call the dispatching office who will in turn communicate with the chopper? In either case (comms or not) what can the receiving party do to prepare a landing zone (especially at night)?

Air ambulance will 99.9% of the time only be called after EMS has arrived on scene. Only time you will see the helicopter form in first is in a search and rescue situation pretty much, and ground EMS can communicate with the helicopter. As for preparing a landing scene, the fire department can take care of that.

As BLS handingoff to ALS. Information and having a great report, TO ME is what makes you a good EMT. Less boxes for ALS to check off equals faster proper care for the PT. Especially seeing how we are so limited in our scope of practice.
