Fuse boxes are different on every model anyhow so it would not of helped, you have to look up where it is, which is easy on google. and sometimes the fuses are different sizes. and dont EVER call yourself dumb. dumb people dont seek out knowledge, and dont ask questions.

@@lordkayx Be very carful searching out your fuse box on google. There are always several shown that isn't the correct one. compare the results with a look at your car's fuse box. Keep in mind that cars with more modern electronic accessories and features often have more than one fuse box. My 2006 Cadillac CTS has 3 of them. One under the hood and two under the back seat cushion. If you have the owner's manual, this will be shown, along with the location(s).

@@ronlheureux7623 Very good advice, Im 35 and got my first ride (bronco 1990) in 2000. It , and all my cars since have had one fuse box inside the cabin for the cabin accessories and a second, and as you said even a 3rd, under the hood. For things like engine sensors and not cabin related or controlled stuff. If I am not mistaken, some of those engine fuses can act like a capacitor, which means they can shock you real bad even if the car has been off for a day and the battery is unplugged.

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS VIDEO!!!!!!!! I have struggled for 2 days with multiple hard wire kits for my Wolfbox Mirror Backup Camera/Dashcam. I watched dozens and dozens of video tutorials on how to install and think it may be a voltage issue with my truck or just user error in working with fuse taps, BECASUE THE UNIT WORKS JUST FINE WHEN I PLUG IN THE CIGARETTE LIGHTER ADAPATER, so for $ 10.00, instead of paying 1 hour of labor at an automotive business (I was done trying to figure out myself and thought I'd pay the hour rate, like 179.00 to have an installer do) this worked perfectly. It would have been a shame too, because I pretty much did all the work, set up ground, had all the equipment routed, etc, to pay someone for something that would take them 5 minutes to figure out. THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have my dash cam ran directly to the battery so that when my truck is off it still has power and if someone hits me while park the dash cam comes on and records them. Since I turn my dash cam off when I’m not in the truck it draws no power or very little. Any used power while I’m parked will recharge while driving per the alternator. But to say never ever tie directly or the battery is not true. Many things go directly to the battery.

No disrespect, but hard wiring is wiring without using the socket. Technically if you are using a 12v acc. socket it is not "hard wiring" You are just replacing one socket with another. Just wire it directly to the fuse and ground point. If you need to disconnect it, pull the fuse.

This is the best video I’ve seen in the matter. However from what I know about electrical. There’s no protection in the circuit since you’re only using one side of your fuse. It’s not going through the breakable part. Luckily for my 87 Dakota with crank windows. My power window fuse holder has the female terminal only on ONE side not both. So I can get away with sticking my fuse in the power window switch and putting your little grabber piece on the opposite side without risk of running it towards the battery. Bc there’s no female connector on that side. Thus I’m using the fuse as simply a fuse and not just an Adapter. For those who don’t have this little convenience I would stick a fuse IN LINE of your power side so you don’t cause a fire. I’m no expert but a fuse is just a fundamental. Correct me if I’m wrong I just don’t see a fuse being used to it’s full extent and purpose here. Still a very helpful video so thank you

What is the metal piece you put into the breaker to attach to the hot end of the cord? You said, "Put that in there", but you didn't tell us what "that" is or where to get it. The eBay link on this page does not work, but I can find that part by itself, and not get all that other wiring and plug I'll never use. I'm trying to use this idea for a dash cam and the wiring is already hidden, but it uses that damn 12V adapter and I need that for a USB converter. Since this is always on when the car is, it would be great to change this over and save me from fishing that damn cord and replacing the entire length of it, and save me a USB port I would have used too. Yes, I am aware of the age of this video. The idea is perfect for my application, unless someone has a better idea. I wouldn't mind just cutting the 12V plug and splice a USB end to it. I just don't know why the car plug is so large for this cam.

Not like what this guy is suggesting as "hardwire". I want to put the horn in my car and power off my 12V battery-somehow. This was done by another KZitem video BUT they did not say how they powered the siren in their truck. What steps do i need to do to power the siren from car battery without draining battery-some kind of converter i suspect? Any help would be appreciated.
