I learned that mechanized rice harvesting is applicable in many parts of the United States

@@KianainChina Yes, sadly America has become dependent on machinery and most have not been taught how to manually harvest rice like their ancestors.

Wow that's so cool. I've heard rice could grow well here in my wet areas of my land. I just don't see myself spending all that time to refine the plant all the way down to rice. What a process.

We have a subtropical climate here. It usually takes 4 months to harvest after transplanting seedlings. It really takes a long time to grow rice. Normally we get two crops of rice a year.

@@KianainChinanǎlǐ nǎlǐ. yes we eat rice, but not in large quantities, I have never seen a rice cooker here, traditionally potatoes are what we eat.
