First timer here. Thank you for the informative video! Question, once they hatch and you do have predators in the tank, is there another alternative to keep them in the tank (like a breeder box), versus putting them in an entirely different tank. If so, how long can they live in the breeder box?

Thanks so much for watching. I let the babies stay in the container they hatch in for about a week then move them to a larger tank. 5 to 10 gallons. I do water change 2 times per week. If you don’t you will have more dye off. If a fish can put them in their mouth they Will eat them. I’ll put mine in with guppies after a month. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Hey I’m using a damp napkin on the bottom and dry one i lay the egg clutches on inside the same container you showed. Is that a good procedure? It’s been about 2-3 weeks now and the eggs are not molded ready to hatch as of yet.

Yes I think so. Just make sure the napkins don't dry out. I have done it that way as well.

I’ve heard that they can just hatch in the lid of your aquarium if there is enough humidity. Can you confirm?

Yes they can. if you have a lid it keeps the humidity high and will work. I just had a clutch hatch like that. I typically get a much better hatch rate when I do exactly like I explained in the video though.

Hi, thanks for the information. I’m new to breeding as my snails are laying a lot of eggs and I’m thinking of getting a breeder tank. My question is, how do you know when they are ready to hatch? Is there some type of discoloration I should be looking for? Thank you

Hi sorry for the late response I just saw it. Yes the color fades a bit and you can kinda see the little snails. Also the shell will become very soft. Usually by that time you will see a few already hatched out.
