A get home bag is in case you get stuck out someplace and must walk a long distance to get home or to safety.
If you leave it in an SUV or car without a trunk, people can see in and may want to steel it. Also, I have noticed an increase in car break-ins over night, and my wife doesn't want to have to bring the bag in over night everyday.
So, she filled up the bag with what she wanted, to make sure it would all fit. Then, she took out the items and hid them.
If she needs to use the bag, she will put everything inside and away she goes!
For the pack itself, just make sure in can be folded up so you can fit it under a seat. We got ours from Target. Below is a link to a bag that looks like a non-tactical kind of bag for this kind of thing. From there, you can see others…

I made my own first aid kit, but the one in the link below seems like a pretty decent kit for this kind of thing. From there, you can check out others.

The ham radio she and I both keep in our cars are Baofengs because the are cheap. See the link below. There is a steep learning curve for this radio, however.

If you want ham radio that is easier to use, check out the Yaesu FT 60R. My wife keeps one at work. It cost more, though.

Amazon has a few antennas for the radios with magnetic mount so you can put it on the car when needed. Below is an example. Be sure you have the correct connector for your radio.

She actually has 2 Sawyer water filtration systems. See below:

She also keeps several bottles of water. Water is heavy, so she plans to drink a lot of it before hoofing it.
She has other things in the pack as well.
