This is my biggest problem right now, finding not just talented people, but reliable people.

just like Gary said, you need to get rid of people who don't buy into your vision and that will allow you to build a culture of like-minded people, who will attract even more talented and reliable people to your business

1:44 Hire people who are obsessed and love the skills you want for the role you are hiring for. 2:48 spend insane amount of time on training the people to do your responsibilities as good as you do now so that you spend your time on next things that matter. 3:37 Get rid of people who don't buy in your vision. 4:30 you sell your vision only one time. Either they buy in or they are out. 6:55 Get off on being the best at little things. 8:10 Check your management style. When you should use vinegar instead of honey and honey instead of vinegar 9:50 once you set a vision start setting people accountable for real results. 10:09 Go have your first ever negative conversation with one of your employees. Just go taste it. 10:30 either you get your shit together or I am gonna have to fire you privately. I love you but...

Hi Gary, interesting conversation. I remember the first time I had to hire someone, I was in my early 20’s, and the fellow I hired was in his 40’s. Hiring was not the problem, hiring was the easy part, the challenge came when I had to tell him what to do, I was a kid and he was middle aged. I had to learn fast on how to deal with employees.

As a leader, as hard as it may be, trusting your employess sooner than later will make all better. I noticed that micro managing people, they start to slack off quickly vs entristing them with the task

I don't necessarily agree that you _have_ to fire people because they don't share your vision - that's not their job. You hire people for their ability to perform tasks and to perform them well, it's your job to have the vision. That aside, this is sound advice for onboarding your first employee. One thing I would add is that while you as a business owner reflect on the processes you want to delegate you take those processes and _put them in writing_ . Then when it comes time to onboard, you will have what you want to delegate on hand and ready to go.

If I’m a business owner for a fulfillment center, should I be certified in forklifting and other machine operations ? Or should I just hire a person to do it for me

Question. Got a blockchain-related channel. I am looking for a video producer, I have thousands of ideas for my channel, hate editing and I am not the best at recording it. But I am good at telling the story and giving a lot of knowledge for my followers. Looking for some intern, he must know how to edit video, it would be nice if he's living the same city and could help me record it (Vancouver). I can share 10-30% of my income, which is up to few hundred $ monthly, but very inconsistent. Where can I find this guy/girl? Tried craigslist... Is there any specific hashtag for wannabe editor/producer on instagram? Gary/other hustlers, please help.

I would actually give different recommendation to that guy. First of all, he is 22 and people don't take him seriously and keay reason is he doesn't take his business seriously and doesn't put it as number one priority .During the conversation he stated very clearly his priority is to comfort people, so the question to you is why do you expect anybody else take your business seriously if you don't and you really don't, change your attitude man because with that mindset you are doomed to failure.
