Did you make the "Upload entire CSV file" video yet? When I run the current code here, all the rows data uploads as "null"

Hey Sean - not yet. Would you mind dropping a topic into our community forum describing the issue? community.retool.com has a bunch of engineers from Retool monitoring it as well as other Retool power users. Good luck and let me know if there are any other topics you'd like to see videos of. Thanks!

What can I do if my csv is too large? Currently I am dealing with a 185 MB csv (this is just a portion of the whole data I need to import). My chrome page fails and mentions it is out of memory.

Hi, that last BULK script takes some time in each loop : so with a litle change turns more efficient with a forEach: const rows = sourceCsv.parsedValue[0]; if (rows.length===0){ console.log('no data') } rows.forEach((data,index)=>{ insertRoomBulk.trigger({ additionalScope:{data:data}, onSuccess:function(data){console.log('bulk file ',index)} }); }) Thanks

Why didn't you put the JavaScript code in the description ? Also You did not show the click handler for the button " Insert all rows from csv" Correct me if I'm wrong Action : Trigger query Query : InsertDocBulk
@Retool

Great idea Ishaq - we'll do that in the future, thanks! For the click handler, this video was released before we released this feature so unfortunately the UI is slightly different. For anyone following along, you'll need to set up a click handler and link in your query in the latest version of the UI. Let us know if you have questions! Thanks! - Chris

I just signed up for ReTool to try and follow along, the file picker module is missing.

Also the "Temporary State" lefthand size column is completely missing so I can not verify my "parsedValue" when I load a file into any of the following selections "File Button, File Dropzone or File Input"

Thank you for the nice tutorial! Unfortunately, I'm running into a problem. When a value in the csv is less then 0,01, the value in firebase is automatically changed to ''null'. I just made a ticket on the retool community. Perhaps more people run into this. I wonder how to fix this.

This is really great tutorial! but i tried to upload csv file same as the video but i got whole data in one cell like the data received was having different format from your format. i even tried to download the csv file that Retool provided [book.csv] on the documentation, but it wont work as well. Do you have to reset the table format? i badly need this but doesnt work for me

Hey Doyean, sounds like you might need to reference the data differently in the table input. Will you post your question / challenge in our community @ community.retool.com ? Thanks!

Hey! great job man. I have one doubt, suppose the firestore database previously has a large amount of data, then I want to push some data from a CSV/JSON file to the database, I don't to overwrite, I want those data to be added newly. Will this tool help?
@Retool
3 жыл бұрын
Hi Trilochan, Glad you enjoyed the video. Yes, you can insert the data as new document into Firestore using Retool by leaving the document ID field empty. "In your query editor, select your Firebase resource from the resource dropdown, choose “Firestore” as the service type, and “Insert document” as the action type. Inserting a document in Retool takes the same format as updating a document, but you can leave the document ID blank if you want Firestore to automatically generate one." From our docs: docs.retool.com/docs/firebase-integration#inserting-a-document Let us know if you have any questions at community.retool.com. Good luck! - Chris

@@chrissmith4404 I just wasn't able to follow the tutorial at all since the Retool page didn't behave the same as in the video. I was able to solve this in a simpler way by using the firebase_admin SDK on python. Solved my problem in no time with 5 lines of code.
