Interesting insight. The game management examples were generally less often occurrences and top level games but still helpful. My view on game management is feeling the pulse of the game, the ebb and flow. It rolls and rides many times over 90 minutes and you have to adapt with it sometimes guiding it gently one way or the other. . To me, its like riding a bucking bronco. The bronco is the game and it will do what it will do but you have to use various techniques to adapt and keep control of the bronco. The worst thing in my view is to pre judge how you will manage a game and I've been out with many refs who on pre match have already decided how they are going to approach the game. It rarely seems to work. . Every game is unique even if the same 2 teams played each other 3 days ago.

Question: Would you (or Lee if he comes across this comment) caution the player a yellow card if he scored a second goal and did the same goal celebration? If yes, wouldn't opposition players argue the first time should have been a yellow too and subsequently a second yellow? If no, why? where do you draw the line? what if he scored a hat-trick and did the same goal celebration a third time? Queries to hear everyone's thoughts...

You got to be consistent so I assume the answer is no caution any. Players will see the pattern and deem it acceptable for that match in particular.
