As a philosopher of 8+ years of experience. I'm glad to see more and more philosophy enthusiasts, like yourself; especially when those are willing to start a KZitem channel and document the journey into self improvement. It brings the faith of the younger generations back into me like God's light piercing a Nun's hippocampus with mere dopamine. 👍

What do you think of Kant's refutation of Hume?

Could you be a bit more specific?

Well so the whole thing is that Hume argued that rationalism was futile becuase humans are inherently irrational, and Kant couldn't accept that. So do you think noumena are part of what shapes our perception but can not be perceived, like morphological structures in our brain which influence our behavior, or complex variables in the state vector that can't be expanded through observation, or is the concept just Kant doubling down on rationalism without accepting empirical evidence as superior, or is Kant implying that a rational thought exists in a mind and therefore inherently exists giving it tangible value regardless of validity?

@@Leadvest Philosopher here. Keep in mind two things, Stettonfield; 1. He's still relatively new to philosophy, he just documents his journey through KZitem. He essentially is still learning the basics... 2. All of those questions you asked implies that you don't yet understand what Immanuel means by "Noumena" or a portion of Kantian philosophy. You can answer all of those questions through the mere understanding of what the "ir" in irrational mean. But it isn't "uncommon" for philosophy enthusiasts to not be able to fully grasp principles philosophical concepts. It is very prominent in those who don't have a philosophy degree, per se. It is called "Heraldic idio" - Involuntary Permanent closed out to full meaning. They don't know what they don't know. I hear it all the time. Especially in "Philosophical debates", quote on quote. By people with no philosophy degree. Hope this helps 👍
