The Banana Lick
In this video, we dive into a classic piece of jazz vocabulary-a wonderful lick known as "The Banana Lick." We study it for both alto and tenor sax, listening to it played on its own and in the context of a wider solo. We'll break down its construction, so you can easily transcribe it into any key. Then, we'll take it through the cycle of fourths in a "practice with me" format, an excellent way to develop your musical language.
