Mitch is the GOAT! Easily one of the most enjoyable swings to watch in bowling.

That’s probably the best video on this I’ve seen. GREAT production value too.

I also feel like outside of bowling practice and tips, I think working out and creating more forearm and wrist strength will most definitely help you in a short amount of time. If you wanna be able to throw just like Mitch, Prather, Tackett, Jones, Bj Moore, you need to develop some strength in those arms. My first 1-2 years of bowling, I started off one handed right handed without thumb and then left handed 2 handed and I’d say overtime it was just make and break of absolute shit performances. I stopped bowling often and started working out in between my bowling and it helped me so much. Not just only my arm strength but also upper body and legs. If you don’t have a strong and balanced form at your release, it will be hard to repeat shots. I’m only 5’8 140-150 so I’m not the biggest but I’m strong enough to withstand 3-10 games, I feel good and confident in between shots. It’s 2024 guys it doesn’t matter where your at life, get in the gym or simply do some at home workouts. It’s not hard to workout, it’s time for everyone to get stronger.

If you need to work your upper body, you are doing it wrong. All the speed and power should come from the lower body. If it comes from the upper body, you are muscling the shot, which means you are going to be inconsistent.

It's moreso technique than it is strength. EJ was a 120lb twig when he first came on tour and he still had 450-500rpm.

Agree, working out helps. You don’t have to be the strongest person but having decent forearm strength helps.

The one thing that I see a lot of when amateurs try to copy professional releases is they cannot get their thumb out of the ball.

Great video. I’m a 2 hander but can’t get a lot of rev. Any advice?

You want to try to have your hand as underneath the ball as you can before you release the ball onto the lane, The same drills apply as a 2 hander yet you probably want to do your full swing then 1 step release.

Facts! Those drills helped me get to where I am today when I switched to 1 hand 👋🏻 Mitch definitely has one of the smoothest releases 🧈
